DESCRIPTION

IUVA NASA Space Science Days Call For Volunteers We are looking for a few volunteer science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) professionals and community leaders in the DC metro area to help coordinate an educational outreach workshop designed to inspire and broaden the knowledge of underrepresented students about space science. . The event will feature lecturers and instructors from NASA. This educational outreach event will be held as follows: Date: Monday, February 11 2013 Time: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Location: Howard University Armour J. Blackburn University Center 2397 Sixth Street, N.W. Washington, D.C. 20059 Underrepresented students are invited to participate in hands on learning about NASA exploration, discoveries, and science. There is no cost to attend this event. Space is limited; register as soon as possible. Each local school can bring a group of up to 25 underrepresented students by registering online using the instructions provided in this presentation. Each school must assign a Coordinator to coordinate logistics and transportation to and from the venue and assign at least one supervisor who is at least 21 years old to accompany the group of students attending from their high school.
