WHY CHOOSE NORTHWEST UNIVERSITY?

Quality Education

You’ll learn from experienced professors, as well as master practitioners teaching in

local schools. A master’s degree from NU’s College of Education is highly regarded in

the profession and will give you the practical tools you’re looking for.

Career Advancement

Increasingly, advanced degrees are common, if not necessary, in private and public

school settings. Our M.Ed. offers you increased expertise, which often leads to

increased leadership opportunities in schools and at the district level.

Flexible and Worker-Friendly

Designed for teachers who are working full time, all classes meet on campus during the evenings, on Saturdays, and over the summer

months. Most of our M.Ed. courses are also hybrid classes. This means you’ll only meet at NU once or twice a month, with other learning

taking place online. It’s the best of both worlds: face-to-face interaction with professors and colleagues, without fighting traffic every week.

Concentrations That Matter

With our M.Ed. program, you can choose from

three highly applicable concentrations:

Teacher Leadership prepares you to take

up a leadership role (e.g., induction mentor,

curriculum coach, etc.) in your school or district.

Educational Assessment prepares you to lead

data-driven assessment work that impacts

student learning.

English Language Learner equips you with

research-based strategies for working more

effectively with English language learners.

Affordable

An education that will advance your career is more affordable than you might think. In

fact, our tuition is among the most competitive you’ll find. And, once you’ve graduated,

there’s a good chance that a pay raise will accompany your accomplishment.
