A Nu Flow South Africa licensee used Nu Flowspatented Nu Drain system to create a new drain piping
system within an incorrectly installed existing system
that was causing leaks.
Project: Use Nu Drain to rehabilitate failing drain lines
in-place.
Site: Highveld is a three-story residential building with
20 units in Cape Town, South Africa.
System: 40mm-wide (1.5"-wide) drain pipes tie into a
110mm-wide main stack that runs vertically through the
building.
Problem: The residence was incorrectly installed with
PVC drain pipes, which constantly leaked and caused
damage to the building.
Solution: The residents wanted to x the buildings
piping installation error with a solution that would not
cause any more damage or disruption to the building.
Water Damage Services, a Nu Flow South Africa
licensee, used Nu Drain to rehabilitate the failing drain
pipes in-place.
Once the pipes were cleaned using Nu Flowspneumatic tools, epoxy-saturated felt liners were pulled
through the pipes. An internal bladder was inated and
the epoxy cured to create a seamless pipe within the
host pipe. This protective structural liner will serve
as the new pipe within the incorrectly installed PVC
pipes, preventing leaks and other common failures.
The customer was pleased that Nu Flows unique non-
destructive technology prevented disruption to the
residents.
Instead of destroying the building to take
out the incorrectly installed pipes and
replace them, this licensee created a new
pipe within the failing pipes using
Nu Drain.
