The Nu Drain structural lining job at a South African Mosque is the second project in a short period of timecompleted by Nu Flow South Africa.

Customer and Site: King Fahd Islamic Centre, a Mosque in Houghton, Gauteng Province, South Africa.

System: 110mm PVC drain pipes containing multiple 90 degree bends for two bathrooms, a trough where

Muslims wash their feet as part of a ritual and four connecting mains equalling approximately 90 feet. Each

of these pipes runs from the second oor through a wall column and under a beautifully tiled passage.

Situation: Masangu Plumbing was called in to x the leaking drain pipes at the Mosque, as well as additional

plumbing problems. Masangu Plumbing had learned of Nu Flows trenchless pipe rehabilitation technology

and decided to call SA Leak Detection to rehabilitate the pipes.

Circumvention: A pipe replacement was not an option due to the damage that would be inicted on the

building, such as breaking open the columns and tiled oor.

Solution: SA Leak Detection Distributors used the Nu Drain system from Nu Flow to pull a structural linerinto place by using existing access points. The access point to the foot wash basin was a small 50mm

outlet. After a liner is pulled into place, the bladder is inated and left to cure, meaning the epoxy hardens

against the existing pipe wall. Once hardened, the bladder is deated and removed, leaving behind a new

    pipe within the existing pipe.
