the páistí back to school after the Christmas holidays. We hope you had a great Christmas and New Year and are looking forward to the year ahead.

We had our first Christmas concert in the new hall and we hope you all really enjoyed it as much as the páistí & múinteorí did. It was a really special occasion for the school furthermore it was fantastic to have so many people in attendance to see the children performing.

We look forward to hosting more events in the future considering we have all this great space to enjoy!

Club Obair Bhaile Club Obair Bhaile will be on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays of each week. Please ensure your child has a book and something to eat with them for the homework club. Children must be collected at 3pm.

We recently had a competition in the school to promote attendance, there were 85 children who managed to maintain full attendance in the month of November. Well done to all involved. Maith sibh!

New lunch choices.

We have been in contact with Glanmore and are in the process of organizing access to their website for parents whereby they will be able to make changes to their child’s lunch menu online. Each child will have their own individual password.

Individual forms will be sent home in the coming days with log in details.

When should my child return to school after illness The information above is based on the Management of Infectious Diseases in Schools guidance document and is a guideline for parents/guardians as to when your child should return to school after illness. Consistent and regular attendance in school is really important as is punctuality.

KNOW HOW MANY DAYS YOUR CHILD HAS MISSED IN SCHOOL

We ask that you do not collect your child early from school unless it is absolutely necessary to do so. The afternoons are a very busy time in the classrooms. Homework is being revised at this time and important work is being done.

STORY SACKS

Story Sacks

Beidh Story Sacks ag tosú ar

an Mháirt 21 Eanáir 2020 i

Seomra na dTuistí i nGaelscoil

Bhaile Munna. Story Sacks will

be beginning on Tuesday 21

January 2020 in the parents’

room of Gaelscoil Bhaile Munna.

It will run for 8 weeks and

parents have the opportunity to

design their own story sack

based on their child’s favourite

book. At the end of the course

parents will be able to present

their story sack to their child.

Story sacks are an excellent

way to help make reading

meaningful and fun for children

while also helping their

language development. No

experience is necessary, all

material will be provided and

the course is free- All you need

to do is choose a book! More

information regarding times

etc. to follow.

Searmanas an tSolais / Ceremony of Light will be held on Monday 27th January in The Virgin Mary Church Shangan at 11.30am.

Water Filters

We will be installing water filters throughout the school to help the environment and would ask parents to provide a strong water bottle for your child which can be used to refill in place of the plastic bottles.
