Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s tent will come alive with their furry friends. Head to their tent for show times. The Currumbin Wildlife Hospital is our charity of choice & we thank you for donating – every cent helps!
Coast Creek Country Realty isn’t your average real estate agent - they care about their clients & community! Head over & say g’day to Nils & his team - they’re face-painting & giving away freebies.
Shop ‘til you drop at our ‘Buskers Bazaars’ & take home a treasure! There’s everything from clothing & handmade jewels, to artwork & trinkets. Got no cash? Got you covered - ATM’s are parkside.
Buskers by the Creek is a registered Not For Profit organisation. All profits from the sale of our merchandise contribute towards the high running costs of our community festival. We endeavour to keep Buskers by the Creek un-ticketed & your purchase of our bottled water & festival shirts will assist us in this challenge. Thank you!
WE’RE CELEBRATING THE ART OF BUSKING! Please show your support to our talent by tweeting & spruiking via social media, tipping their hats or guitar cases with cash & purchasing merchandise. These guys commit a lifetime to their craft & your gratuities are well deserved. Thank you for becoming part of their journey on the road to success.

BATTLE OF THE BUSKERS - top emerging talent in the ultimate showdown of busking brilliance! This invite only event sees our top emerging singer/songwriters go guitar to banjo in a battle to take out the "Totally Talented" title. The winner walks away with a recording package from Lovestreet Studios, cash from Bendigo Bank, a final spot in the prestigious Bluesfest Busking Competition, a media package from BlankGC & a headline act spot at the Original Seeds Showcase at Soundlounge. Currumbin Creek Tavern’s restaurant is open for meals & tapas & their courtesy bus will be running. Saturday 17th October, 7pm , free entry.
A NOTE FROM FESTIVAL DIRECTOR, CINDY JENSEN: I always get asked “why” & “how”. Walking through an outdoor maze in a small village market in Thailand, inspired the concept. Watching four blind guys busk back to back playing ukuleles was unforgettable & I turned to my husband & said, “I need to bring this colour, culture, flavour & surprise back home to Currumbin”. The flight home saw me write my plan on the back of a cereal box & there was no turning back! Thank you to my family, friends, supporters & my biggest loves, David, Tahlia & Lenoxx. I love you more than words can express!
DISCOVER THE UNDISCOVERED! there’s a mixed bag of sweet sounds + fabulous entertainment to enjoy. From award-winning performers to talented teens; from swing to sword swallowing; from banjo to energy shows – we’ve got it all! Sideshow celebrity, ‘Space Cowboy’ is “Australia’s Most Prolific World Record Breaker” and his side show stunts are guaranteed to leave a lasting impression!
Professional freak & sideshow performer, ‘The Lizardman’ is joining us, best known for his body modification, including his sharpened teeth & full-body tattoo of green scales & bifurcated tongue. Also performing is ‘Mr Qwirk’, armed with a suitcase full of surprises, with ping pong balls, rubber gloves, a two meter unicycle & three machetes thrown into the mix.
Recently crowned ‘Artist of the Year’, the guitar-slinging, banjo-wielding ‘Musical Fool’, Karl S. Williams will be taking to the Aquavan on Saturday. A red hot performance by Energy Entertainments will then close the first day festivities. You can expect loads of interactive jamming & killer guitar licks from Leesa Gentz & Julz Parker, better known as the ‘Hussy Hicks’. These girls will be setting the Aquavan alight on Sunday at kick-off!
You’ll ‘discover the undiscovered’ with a colourful collection of emerging singer/songwriters thrown into the festival mix & be captivated by the raw energy & vintage blues sounds of 2015 Byron Bay Bluesfest Busking Champions, Grizzlee Train. The Samba-Blisstas will then thunder through & see our Sunday out with riotous red rhythms. Make sure you’re at the Aquavan at 5.30pm to witness this silly syncopated street troupe’s closing celebration!
The 1029er’s will be spreading festival news on-ground from 12-3pm on Saturday. Listen out for Moyra Major – she’ll be roving between stages to announce our busker news.
Our international menu includes a vast array of food & beverage options from around the globe & there’s flavours to tempt all tastebuds. Parachuters from LVN Lifestyle & GC Skydive will be dropping from above on Sunday afternoon, with a beach landing planned for across the creek. Want to try the slackline sport? Head down to PulseX. Juggling & hula? Look out for Tony & Dee’s colourful classes.
Please complete the Voting Slips & Questionaire, which will help us with future funding. Please drop off to the Sweetie at

BBTC would not be possible without the valuable contribution from our STAR Supporters, including Connecting Southern Gold Coast. We thank you for your encouragement & support!
The vision from the onset was to re-introduce the old-fashioned art of busking & to showcase undiscovered talent. These wins prove that the concept & creation has been embraced to great success & it’s very exciting & humbling to be recognised so highly after the first year. We’re thrilled our artists will receive more exposure from this nomination & that we can further highlight the cultural depth of our beautiful city. Photo courtesy Lamp Photography.

#3 - Reflection
There’s a whole bunch of friends we need to thank. Without their support, our buskers would be back on the streets! Firstly our guidance guru Rachael Jansen. This woman’s the bomb!! www.rachaeljansen.com.au Anita Collenbrander, Cherie Worthing & Drew Kruck also played an integral part in planning. Hats off to Currumbin Creek Tavern, Lovestreet Studios, Blank GC, Bendigo Bank, Stick It Signs, Billeigh Photography, Currumbin RSL, Vox Studios, 1-DA Shapes, Inology, Gold Coast Tipis, Bluesfest Busking, Lucky 13 Creative Industries, Volunteers, Moyra Major & the Hot Tomato Crew. We had a vision of a water stage & thanks to the generosity of the Bridge family from Gold Coast Barges, our dream became reality! Dan Aurora & Gus Cuthbert are our red hot audio lads & we couldn’t operate without them. We’ll also never forget the creative talents of Justin James & Paul Major. This year’s pelican illustration is the great work of another local Dion Parker.
