How to Read Number Lines

Arrows:
The arrows on either end indicate that numbers increase or decrease infinitely.
Numbers:
Numbers are negative to the left of zero. Numbers are positive to the right of
zero. The numbers increase in value from left to right.
Tick Marks:
Tick marks between integers indicate that the number line is divided into
fractions or decimals.
