• Emails, comments in chat rooms, and instant messages are read by real people with realfeelings.

Rule 1: Remember the human

Rule 2: Adhere to the same standards of behavior online that you follow in real life

Rule 3: Know where you are in cyberspace

Rule 4: Make yourself look good online

Rule 5: Respect other people`s privacy

Rule 6: Be forgiving of other people`s mistakes

“Remember the Human”

• Remember when typing all you have are the words to read; no nonverbal cues; it is easy to misunderstand those you are communicating with• Ask yourself: Would you say it to the person’s face?
