USDA’s Apps for Healthy Kids competition…

Launched March 20 by First Lady Michelle Obama as part of the Let’s Move initiative to end childhood obesity.

Challenged software developers, game designers, and students to develop creative, fun, and engaging tools and games that help kids and their parents make more nutritious food choices and be more physically active.

Nearly 100 games and tools (viewable at www.appsforhealthykids.com) were built using a USDA nutrition dataset.
