ETHERNET MACHINE CONTROL

Machine Control is a fundamental — and critical — component of any automation system. Whether acquiring, processing or playing media, there’s a piece of hardware somewhere carrying out that task. NVerzion’s EMC-NT solution enables the control of all system elements via a network-based protocol that simply links the operator to his work�ow.

EMC-NT allows for the control of any device such as �le servers, character generators, routers, and more by constantly awaiting machine control requests from other applications across the Ethernet connection. These requests are then executed using a dedicated serial or Ethernet connection from EMC-NT to the appropriate device.

EMC-NT can also be con�gured to perform delegation, meaning a certain station or application can be given priority, providing dynamic source con�ict resolution. This feature is especially useful in applications where a certain piece of equipment is being utilized for multiple functional areas.

SQL MEDIA DATABASE MANAGER AND VIEWER

NBase is the core module of NVerzion’s automation software system, providing a means to maintain a wide variety of media related metadata and share it with all applications running on the system. NBase uses an SQL database to ensure that all applications have up-to-date and metadata information. Since applications “register” with the system, any application running automatically noti�es NBase whenever a modi�cation is made and then NBase automatically noti�es the rest of the system applications.

Working hand in hand with NVerzion’s NView database viewer, NBase is an extremely reliable tool to keep all system elements operating in complete synchronization.

NView provides a clear view on all the assets within a given database. This application provides more than just name and duration of a clip … it gives the operator access to all the additional information associated with each clip, such as description, related clips, date received and much more.
