MOTIVATION
The Internet's evolution has
turned into a mixture of
protocols, architectures… that
bring an unnecessary
complexity in the way
nodes access to
information.
Trends:
- Incremental Internet design
- Clean Slate Internet design

MOTIVATION
The information centric approach: information
consumers do not have to concern about the information
source. This is a different approach from the current host-
centric network which today's Internet is based on.
The Publish/Subscribe communication mechanisms
- Publishers
- Subscribers
- Rendezvous/Brokers
BACKGROUND
PSIRP(Publish/Subscribe Information
Routing Paradigm): a new
architecture for the Internet
Design a new information-centric
internetworking architecture based on the
publish-subscribe paradigm
Make “information” the center of attention
and remove the “location-identity split” that
plagues current networks
Implement and validate the new
architecture under realistic operational
scenarios.

BACKGROUND
PSIRP(Publish/Subscribe
Information Routing
Paradigm
Information from single piece
of data, to large documents or
video files are structured in
hierarchical publications.
This way of information
organizing via flat and
independent labeling (Sid,Rid)
BACKGROUND

An open server-to-server protocol for distributed
communication over the Internet using Atom and
RSS as a source format.

SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
It is clear that even with a nearly perfect network, migration
mechanisms are necessary. It is essential to define
interoperable solutions with current Internet services and
future Internet .
The architecture proposed in this paper accomplishes
interoperability between the future Internet architecture
PSIRP, which is under active evolution (EU FP7 PURSUIT
Project)
Finally, other issues have been addressed such as:
subscription mapping and conversion of different identifiers…
