Dear Parents, Thank you to all the parents who were able to attend the Parent’s Calculation Forum on Monday, it was a great opportunity for us to share the progression of strategies laid out in the new national curriculum. The next Parent Forum will be on Monday 23rd November, where Mrs Inglis will be sharing strategies to support your child in reading. This meeting will be held in the hall at the beginning of the school day. This week we have also been updating the school website. As well as providing useful information regarding the school we now have a Latest News page where you can see photographs and descriptions of all the exciting events that have happened so far this term. Year 6 have had a particularly busy week with a visit from the ‘Worshipful Company of Musicians’ as well as preparing for their class assembly. Whilst Year 1 children have been helping me prepare for a trip to the Artic this Christmas — I can’t wait to read all of your work. Finally, I would like to remind everyone that next week is assessment week across the school and the teachers will be busily assessing the progress all the children have made so far this term.
Wishing you all a good weekend
Jo Iwanicki Deputy Head Teacher

Message from the Governors
The governing body met at school on Monday evening, and was delighted to welcome Katy Theobald as a new foundation governor. Katy works for Future Leaders, a UK
educational charity, and is skilled at data analysis. Her appointment expands the mix of talents that our GB needs in order to help HPS move forward.
The meeting focused on the school’s newest achievement data, presented and analysed by Mr McLean. He will share this data with parents at a forum on 30 November. The GB
also continued its rolling review of several policies, such as Supporting Pupils with Medical Conditions. Governors will be in school on various dates as we head towards
Christmas – please check the newsletter for details. As ever, thank you for your continued support and encouragement.
Good Luck Emily!
One of our Year 1 students, Emily Davies (Winchester Class) will be taking part in a
Children in Need performance this evening with her dance group. We wish her all the
very best of luck for her performance.

THIS WEEK...
Football Results
Last week our CSSA football season started with both the boys and girls team picking up some positive results. The girls started with a thumping 6-0 win against St Eugene's with goals from
Bexy Rossiter (4); Cara Epega and Kimiko Arculus. They followed this up with a narrow defeat against Primrose Hill, with one great goal separating the teams. Their last match was a great 4-1 win against Eleanor Palmer, with goals again from Bexy (2) and Cara as well as a
beautiful strike from Sophia Rahn.
The boys also started brilliantly well with a 6-0 victory over St Eugene's. Toby Kennedy helped himself to a hat trick and Josiah Thompson (2) and Reuben Lees also finding the back of the
net. Their next two matches were narrow, unfortunate defeats. A couple of errors allowed Primrose Hill to win 2-1 with Josiah again scoring for our team. The 1-0 defeat to Eleanor
Palmer was hard to take for the boys as they dominated the game but found a mixture of the opposition goalkeeper and goal post kept coming to the rescue of their opponents.
Girls Team: Erin; Sophia; Grace; Angelica; Kimiko; Bexy and Cara
Boys Team: Jakeem; Sean; Toby; Josiah; Reuben; James; Roman and George
Year 6 Music Workshop!
Year 6 had a visit from the Worshipful Company of Musicians. A tuber player and a trombonist came in to talk about how brass instruments work and how the role of the musician has changed over the
centuries, from sounding the royal fanfare to recording the soundtrack of a Hollywood blockbuster.
A huge thank you to Ann Redfern for helping us organise the visit. We look forward to working with you again.
