SENIOR HOMEOWNERS! IMPORTANT PROPERTY TAX DEADLINE: MARCH 15, 2017

➥ Are you over the age of 65 or turning 65 before the end of

the year?

➥ Are you disabled ? ➥ Do you own the home you live in?

➥ Is your income less than $37,399 ?

If you answered yes to some or all of these questions, you may be eligible for a Senior Citizens Homeowners Exemption (SCHE) or Disabled Homeowner Exemption (DHE). SCHE and DHE are programs offered by the NYC Department of Finance which can

reduce your tax assessment by up to 50%, resulting in lower property taxes. The deadline to apply for a SCHE or DHE is March 15, 2017.

Even if you already benefit from SHE or DHE you must reapply by March 15, 2017.

SYEP provides New York City youth with paid summer employment for up to six weeks in July and August. SYEP provides

workshops on job readiness, career exploration, financial literacy and opportunities to continue education and social

growth. Participants are selected based on a lottery system to work in a variety of entry-level jobs. 2017 companies may

Ladders for Leaders provides paid internships to talented youth between the ages of 16-22 with demonstrated leadership

experience. Applicants are evaluated based on a grade point average of at least an 80, their response to an essay

question, and resume quality demonstrating previous employment and volunteer experience.

Selected applicants will engage in pre-employment training designed to teach advanced work readiness skills and will

have the opportunity to interview at a variety of companies. L4L partnering employers make the final selections on hiring.
