THIRTEENTH SUNDAYOF ORDINARY TIME

Mass Program for June 28, 2020

8:30 & 10:30 Mass on June 28, 2020

Entrance Antiphon

All peoples, clap your hands. Cry to god with shouts of joy!

All you people, cry to God with shouts of joy!

All peoples, clap your hands. Cry to God with shouts of joy!

For the Lord, the Most High, is awesome,

the great king over all the earth.

He humbles peoples under us and nations under our feet.

Our heritage he chose for us,

the pride of Jacob whom he loves.

God goes up with shouts of joy.

The Lord goes up with trumpet blast.

Sing praise for God; sing praise!

Sing praise to our king; sing praise!

God is king of all the earth. Sing praise with all your skill.

God reigns over the nations.

God sits upon his holy throne.

FIRST READING

A reading from the second Book of Kings

2 Kings 4:8-11, 14-16a

One day Elisha came to Shunem, where there was a woman of

influence, who urged him to dine with her. Afterward, whenever he

passed by, he used to stop there to dine. So she said to her husband,

“I know that Elisha is a holy man of God. Since he visits us often, let us

arrange a little room on the roof and furnish it for him with a bed, table,

chair, and lamp, so that when he comes to us he can stay there.”

Sometime later Elisha arrived and stayed in the room overnight.

Later Elisha asked, “Can something be done for her?” His servant

Gehazi answered, “Yes! She has no son, and her husband is getting on

in years.” Elisha said, “Call her.” When the woman had been called and

stood at the door, Elisha promised, “This time next year you will be

fondling a baby son.”

The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM

Psalm 89:2-3, 16-17, 18-19

R./ For ever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.

The promises of the LORD I will sing forever,

through all generations my mouth shall proclaim your faithfulness.

For you have said, “My kindness is established forever;”

in heaven you have confirmed your faithfulness.

R./ For ever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.

Blessed the people who know the joyful shout;

in the light of your countenance, O LORD, they walk.

At your name they rejoice all the day,

and through your justice they are exalted.

R./ For ever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.

You are the splendor of their strength,

and by your favor our horn is exalted.

For to the LORD belongs our shield,

and the Holy One of Israel, our king.

R./ For ever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.

SECOND READING

A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Romans

Romans 6:3-4, 8-11

Brothers and sisters:

Are you unaware that we who were baptized into Christ Jesus

were baptized into his death?

We were indeed buried with him through baptism into death,

so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead

by the glory of the Father,

we too might live in newness of life.

If, then, we have died with Christ,

we believe that we shall also live with him.

We know that Christ, raised from the dead, dies no more;

death no longer has power over him.

As to his death, he died to sin once and for all;

as to his life, he lives for God.

Consequently, you too must think of yourselves as dead to sin

and living for God in Christ Jesus.

The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

GOSPEL

Matthew 11:25-30

The Lord be with you. And with your spirit.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.

Glory to you, O Lord.

Jesus said to his apostles: “Whoever loves father or mother more than me is

not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not

worthy of me; and whoever does not take up his cross and follow after me is

not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his

life for my sake will find it." Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever

receives me receives the one who sent me. Whoever receives a prophet

because he is a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever

receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man will receive a

righteous man’s reward. And whoever gives only a cup of cold water to one

of these little ones to drink because the little one is a disciple—amen, I say

to you, he will surely not lose his reward.”

The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

R./ Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation;

announce the praises of him who called you

out of darkness into his wonderful light.

PREPARATION OF THE GIFTS

At the Cross (Love Ran Red)There's a place where mercy reigns and never dies

There's a place where streams of grace flow deep and wide

Where all the love I've ever found

Comes like a flood comes flowing down

At the cross at the cross I surrender my life

I'm in awe of You, I'm in awe of You

Where Your love ran red and my sin washed white

I owe all to You I owe all to You (Jesus)

There's a place where sin and shame are powerless

Where my heart has peace with God and forgiveness

Where all the love I've ever found

Comes like a flood comes flowing down

Here my hope is found

Here on holy ground

Here I bow down here I bow down

Here arms open wide

Here You saved my life

Here I bow down, here I bow (down)

COMMUNION

10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)

Bless the Lord O my soul O my soul

Worship His holy name

Sing like never before O my soul

I'll worship Your holy name

The sun comes up it's a new day dawning

It's time to sing Your song again

Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me

Let me be singing when the evening comes

You're rich in love and You're slow to anger

Your name is great and Your heart is kind

For all Your goodness I will keep on singing

Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find

And on that day when my strength is failing

The end draws near and my time has come

Still my soul will sing Your praise unending

Ten thousand years and then forevermore

CONGREGATIONALCOMMUNION

Communion Antiphon

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, his holy name.

O bless the Lord, O bless his holy name.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all within me, his holy name.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and never forget all his benefits.

It is the Lord who forgives all your sins, who heals every one of your ills,

who redeems your life from the grave,

who crowns you with mercy and compassion,

who fills your life with good things, renewing your youth like an eagle's.

The Lord does just deeds, gives full justice to all who are oppressed.

He made known his ways to Moses, and his deeds to the children of Israel.

The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and rich in mercy.

He will not always find fault; nor persist in his anger forever.

He does not treat us according to our sins,

nor repay us according to our faults.

For as the heavens are high above the earth,

so strong his mercy for those who fear him.

As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions.
