Sunday, July 14 th – Sunday, July 21 st , 2019 Preached and Directed Retreat for Religious and Laity Living the Psalms, Living in God’s Presence Presenters: Fr. Flavio Gillio & Dottie Levesque The Psalms present us with endless inspiration and provide us with a window into the very nature of God. The Psalms teach us how to relate to God with all of life’s experiences and emotions: frustration, doubt, fear, anger, shame, hatred, sor-row and insecurities; but also with praise, joy and gratitude. Let us explore Israel’s ancient prayers and the Church’s Prayer of the Hours. Discover who we are and what God means for us. Become free to pray passionately with emotion as sincere worshipers in our quest to experience God’s pres-ence. The retreat begins Sunday at 7:00 pm (Registration at 6:30 pm) Ends Sunday after Brunch Suggested Donation: $550 per person

We will be leaving the SVP Church parking lot at 9am and returning at approximately 7pm. This year the cost of the trip will be $25.00. Anyone who would like to go is asked to sign up and fill out a permission slip. Sign-up sheet and permission slips are in the back of the church. Anyone who would like to sponsor a child for the day may put their donation in an envelope marked, “Amusement Park sponsor” and place it in the collection basket or drop off at the rectory. July is the month for devotion to the Precious Blood of Christ When we consider the infinitely Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, many things come to mind. We think of that blood be-gotten in the womb of Our Lady. We think of that Blood that was shed, leaving His Body from whence it should never have left. That Blood, like everything else in the Body of Christ, is in hypostat-ic union with Him and when it leaves His sacred Body, it is as if symbolizing all the dignity of that Body. We might compare this departure to the juice that comes from the grape to make up wine. That juice represents the essence of the grape, all the best the grape has to give. So also Our Lord’s Blood represents the best of blood – the blood of David, the blood of Mary, the Blood of God-Man.

Day of Prayer: Journaling My Journey
Presenter: Dottie Levesque
Many young people keep a diary ... a record of people seen, work accomplished and emotions expressed. Adolescence matures into adulthood and the diary becomes a journal. A journal is a commitment made to self -- to the "God-in-me". It is a prayerful method of putting words to one's thoughts. Four styles of journaling will be presented. There will, of course, be time for experimenting with each style. 9:15 am – 4:00 pm (Registration begins at 8:30 am) Lunch included in the program. Suggested Donation: $45 per person
