1 1 st Solution:- Both groups nominate one personal each so that shift is manned by one individual from Alfah and one from Beta community next Friday. Advantage This situation give equivalent right to both group and thus would not improve the tension. Disadvantage In this situation manager and union leader are new, both that belong different communities. This event is being used by each side to get an higher side over the other. Both community claims that the other should help by selected people for doing. The duty next Friday, since it is their main festival. Tradionally the other community was to do the duty under this situation. Even If the communities agree, the strategy of actually nominating a personal from that group would exist a problem. 2 nd Solution:- The managers should offer to do the duty, thereby, provide a good example. He should encourage the union leader to be a part of him in doing the duty and set example of an perfect and responsible behavior by the union leadership. Advantage It identify the importance of the union leader and urges Mr. B to complete the role of an ideal union leader. This is expected to satisfy the ego of Mr B.

3rd Solution:-Draw lots and the individuals whose names come out in the draw, regardless to the group they are part of, will do the dutyAdvantage : If implemented fairly, its a good solution for retaining the agreement built between two groups.Disadvantage: The problem is that both the manager and the union leader are new and both from different groups. Each group is trying to provide an upper hand through his dispute. The proposed solution will not meet situation.

Best Solution:-Second situation is best because manager should set a leadership example by nominating himself first for the responsibility next Friday. He should thereafter, encourage the union leader to join him for duty so that communal harmony and management union good relationship is achieved through responsible behavior of both sides.
