Obadiah’s vision

1 The vision of Obadiah - The original text was written between 850-840 B.C.

This is what the LORD says to Israel – A message was sent to the nations to say,‘Rise, let us go up against her for battle’–2 ‘See, I will make you, Israel, feel small among the nations; you will be utterly despised.3 The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who live in now hiding for you believed that they were trying to help you and make your home on the heights,but really their intentions were that of wealth and personal gainyou who say to yourself, “Who can bring me down, for i am there God!”4 Though you soar like an eagle and planed to make your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down,’declares the Matrix.5 ‘For thieves and robbers live in your world and when they see who house it belongs to–oh, what a disaster awaits you – would they steal only as much as they needto house and feed themselves?or would they take all that they wanted?If grape pickers rob from a vineyard, would they only take some or most of them?6 This is how Israel will be ransacked, Her hidden treasures and secrets will be pillaged!and used to make the success of others seem greater!7 All your allies will Leave you; your friends will deceive and overpower you;those who eat your soul will set a trap for you, but you will not detect it.8 ‘In that day,’ declares the LORD, ‘will I not destroy the wise men of Zion, those of understanding who did not choose to insult her or lie about her, or lie to her!9 But your warriors who do, we see there crimes against the creatorand will be terrified because of what they have said against her. and everyone will be cut down in this slaughter of her.

9a No long would they worship the sacrifice of delusions and lies.but there eyes will be open to the reality of what it means to suffer,not just in a physical way but in a mental and emotional way tooand those scars can be far more painful.9b In that day however people will see the reality,which is that no one wishes to pay the price for the mistakes of others10 Because of the violence and ignorance of your people, they will be covered with shame; and they will be destroyed forever.11 On the day you stood alone while strangers carried off his wealthand foreigners entered your gates but denied you entry and they cast lots, like you were one of them.they they did this without asking for your permission12 You should not gloat over anyone in the day of his or her misfortune,nor rejoice over the people of that suffer. in the day of their destruction,nor boast so much in the day of their trouble.13 You should not idolise the arrogant who boast of their handed down wealth and ability to sleep with many women for in the day of their disaster these things will amount to nothing,But do not gloat over them in their calamity for you should not take joy in the suffering of anyone,nor seize their wealth in the day of their disaster,as this day might just come back and happen to you.14 You should not wait for important things such as jobs to come to youbut instead you stay watchful, smart and look to work hard for the things that you want in life.15 ‘The day of the LORD is near for all nations.As you have done, it will be done to you; your deeds will return upon your own head.in the form of reincarnation or kalma16 Just as you drank on my holy hill, so all the nations will drink continually;17 When Zion rises, there will be deliverance; it will be holy, and she will possess her inheritance.18 Babylon will be a fire and the father a flame;Jesus and his Lord will be stubble, and they will set him on fire and destroy his image.There will be no ‘survivors’ from his followers.’The LORD has spoken.19 Israel and her people will possess the promised land.20 Israel who was exiled will be free and will possess the land

21 Deliverers will go up on Mount Zion to govern the people and the new teaching. And the kingdom will be the LORD’s.
