    By Bethany Bella

    After the countless commercials

    and advertisements promoting the

    2012 Presidential Election, Amer-

    ica prepares to inaugurate another

President of the United States in

    the rst month of 2013.

    Barack Obama, 44th President

of the U.S., will resume his title as

    Commander in Chief this January.

    While he secured his presidency

    from Mitt Romney in November

    2012, Obama looks forward to

another four years in his Pennsyl-

    vania Avenue oval ofce.

    The 2013 Presidential Inau-

    guration takes place on Monday,

Jan. 21 in the heart of the nations

    capitol, Washington D.C. The

    festivities include the swearing-in

    ceremony, the ofcial Inaugural

Address and Parade, as well ascountless other galas honoring

    President Barack Obama through-

    out the week.

    Ofcially, the theme for this

    years Inauguration is Faith in

    Americas Future, highlighting

Obamas key plans and goals for

the United States over his next term

    in ofce.

    His ofcial

    swearing-inceremo-

    ny on the

    steps of the

    Capitol will

    prelude an

    inaugural luncheon hosted by the

    Inaugural Congressional Commit-

    tee.

    While the Inauguration of

    Americas 44th President may

interest a variety of citizens, not

everyone agrees in taking part in

this historic ceremony. In fact, a

    majority of Gahanna Lincoln High

    Schools student population would

    rather hear about the Inauguration

on the next days news instead ofwatching the ceremony live.

In response to whether or not he

    will watch the 2013 Inauguration,

    junior Drew Mitchell said, Maybe.

Its not like Im going to schedule

it [in]. If Im not doing anything,

Ill watch it. Otherwise, its not a

    priority.

    Despite the Inaugurations

    attempts to captivate every citizen

in America, it does not have thesame appeal to everyone. Some

    will miss the Inauguration altogeth-

er, perhaps because they voted for

    Romney instead of Obama. Others

will remain unaware as to when

and where to tune in, missing the

    ceremony altogether.

    The United States remains a

    country divided over the re-election

    of Barack Obama.

    One side supports Obama and

his vision for Americas next four

years. Obama is just a totally cool

dude. He got us out of a war which

    wasnt cheap,

    a part of the

    reason our

    decit went

    up. I think

    its hilarious

    when peo-

    ple say He

    didnt keep

    all of his

    promises.

    Really, [its]

    shocking,

    junior Stefn Sandberg said.

The other side of America dis-

agrees with Obamas last four yearsand does not look forward to his

next term in ofce. I dont believe

Obama has done a quality job as

president. For one, the unemploy-ment rate was over eight percentor most o his frst term. Also, thepeoples dependency on the gov-ernment is rising, which is setting abad precedent or the uture, juniorConnor Roll said.

Despite the lopsided view oObamas second term as Presidento the United States, his Inaugura-tion remains a constant reminderthat this man who will lead thecountry o America over the nextour years. His dreams and am-bitions will continue to shape thecountry into an evolving, industri-alized nation.
