ESSIP Plan 2015 / Objective ITY-ACID 3
Explanation
Objective derived from the SES Regulation on Aircraft Identification (EU) 1206/2011
Only addressing the planning actions related to the implementation of the 2nd milestone of the Regulation (2.01.2020)
1st milestone (02.2012) is completely outside the scope of the ESSIP objective (it is dealt with by EASA through the SES Report)
Discrete SSR codes are still expected to be used in the foreseeable future, by to a lesser extent

Most important SLoA(s)
ASP01 addressing the capability of the surveillance chain to handle the downlinked aircraft identification
ESSIP Plan 2015 / Objective ITY-ACID 7
Finalisation Criteria and Closed Questions
The relevant systems allowing the establishment of individual aircraft identification using the downlinked aircraft identification have been put into service
All concerned personnel has been trained No closed questions

Supporting Material
As specified in SLoAs detailed descriptions
ESSIP Plan 2015 / Objective ITY-ACID 9
ESSIP Report 2014
It is important to note that some States which are outside the applicability area have reported implementation plans or even completion of the objective.
ESSIP Plan 2015 / Objective ITY-ACID 10
Objective Coordinator’s Analysis, recommendations, tips & tricks
The objective if focussing on the 2020 milestone Compliance with the 2020 milestone may imply major upgrades of
systems (e.g. surveillance and communication systems, SDPD, FDPD, HMI, etc)
Compliance with the 2012 milestone is not covered by the ESSIP objective. It has to be reported to EASA
