Create Themes

As you learned in Chapter 1, documents you create in Word are based on a template called the Normal.dotm template.

This template provides default layout and formatting instructions and specifies the themes and styles that Word applies to your documents.

This default template includes a number of built-in or predesigned themes, some of which you have been using throughout the chapters of this textbook to apply color, change fonts, and add effects to content in documents.

The built-in themes that are available in Microsoft Word are also available in Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
