Students’ Presentation

A look at our lives outside of class

22

AES Cross Country 2015

Overview

• Challenges During The Run

• How we were motivated

• What we achieved and learnt

• Applying what we have learntinto real life

Challenges Before & During The Run

• The intensive training was tough

• The several slopes and narrow pathways, coupled with the hot weather, got to us

• But the scenery was very beautiful and made us forget about the heat and the rough terrain

Motivation…. • Teachers and friends encouraged us

throughout the race

• Some teachers even ran with us

Achievements • Medals are given to the top 50 finishers

of the Cross-Country

• The true reward was: The Milo van

What we learnt • Teamwork

• Resilience

THANK YOU!!!

Sec 2 Level Camp

The Leader in Me

What we experienced

and learned during the

camp!

Compassion

• We have lots of opportunities to learn and understand how others feel when setbacks were encountered.

“Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.” – Proverbs 4:23

Compassion • Respond appropriately and motivate each

other

• Our class became more united and we would not hesitate to help others who needed us

Humility • From the activities, we

learned to understand our strengths and more importantly, our limitations so that we may be more aware of what we need to do better

• We are more willing to

work with others because we understand that we all have something valuable to contribute to the success of the various activities

“For the Lord takes delight in his

people; he crowns the humble

with victory.”

– Psalms 149:4

Respect • During camp, respect plays a vital role

• We have to work with one another and treat people the way we want to be treated despite our differences

• We also showed respect to the community when we were out

Integrity

• Have the integrity to own up to your mistakes

• Be fair to everyone

“Whoever walks in integrity will be delivered, but he

who is crooked in his ways will suddenly fall.” –

Proverbs 28:18

Sense of Responsibility • Be accountable for his/her decisions

• Be responsible for our successes and failures

• Do not blame others

• Do not shy away from your responsibilities

“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-

control.”

– 2 Timothy 1:7

Trust • A leader must have trust in others

• Members must also have trust in their leaders

• Do not abuse others’ trust

• Be accountable for your actions

“Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray

after a lie!” – Psalm 40:4

What Have We Learnt • An authentic learning experience that allows

us to be independent and rough it out without our luxuries

• We learnt that we must respect and love one another

• Last but not least, we learned that everyone can be a leader and there is a leader in every one of us

THANK YOU!!!!
