observatics: observatory of social media use by spanish hospitals
DESCRIPTION
The “Permanent Observatory of the ICT in Health” (ObservaTICS) aims to analyze, in a continuous way, the development and influence of the ICT in all the scopes of the human health. It is about a platform opened to the collaboration of researchers, organizations and institutions interested on the subject. ObservaTICS started its work in 2010, dealing with the subject of the use of Internet and the collaborative tools by the Spanish health centers. Through its website (www.observatics.com ), it offers information about the use that every hospital is making of the main social networks, which is the evolution of this use, the geolocation of each hospital, the medical resources which they have, as well as the distribution by provinces and communities. In the same way, it has a blog that is trying to generate discussion subjects about the situation of “Hospitals 2.0” in Spain, to present and highlight the effort of the pioneering centers, to show the possibilities of these tools and to offer examples of their use, and to invite to all the agents involved to participate in ObservaTICS and integrate it on its work methodology.TRANSCRIPT
