The practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a multidisciplinary field of medicine that encompasses reproductive physiology, genetic considerations, and environmental factors that contribute to gynecological disease in women.

In addition to delivering babies, Obstetricians/Gynecologists, or Ob-Gyns, provide health education and preventive counseling to women of all ages, as well as pap smears and pelvic exams to identify and diagnose any potential gynecological problems a woman might experience. Ob-Gyns also perform surgical procedures related to cervical and uterine disease, as well as other adverse gynecological conditions.
