About 1 oclo k Sunday morninga fre was discovered in the store ofthe Belleview Trading companyCharles Tremere manager-
An alarm was quickly given butthe building was beyond the reach of
2
help and was burned to the groundwith nothing saved
I It seemed as if the Belleview Block-

too but it was saved by the heroicwork of the men and engines-
The northbound express came along
about the time the fire broke out andhelped give the alarm
Whea it was seen that the house-
on the north side of the storethewinter residence of Mr White ofPittsburgPawas likely to beburned the train crew led on by theconductor helped at railroad speed-
to get out the contents to be taken
i to a place of safetyThe cause of the fire has not yet
been learned The safe whichwentthrough the Jacksonville fire is notyet in a condition to be opened so itis not known what the contents are
A few days since thinking he wascarrying too much insurance though-
far below the value of the stock can ¬
celled a thousand dollars on it4 c The fire is a great shock him and
he is in no condition to decide whathe will do in the future

WorSe Hit than the Florida TruckersThe New YorK Packer says there
can be no doubt but that the truckseason just ending has been one ofalmost general disaster to Texasgrowers They have suffered fromnumerous conditions They have lostheavily by reason of overproduction-of certain commodities and from un-
der¬
production of others Veatherconditions were bad throughout theentire season and taken altogether-the Texas grower has been up against-the rough side of the deal all the waythrough
Many letters are coming to ThePacker from Texas growers Many-
of them are stories of sorrow storiestelling of the disaster that has be¬
fallen the grower and judging fromthe tone of some of the correspon-dence
¬
of this nature mismanagement-and bullheadiness on the part of someof the growers has added heavily tothe load that they are bearing forreaspns stated above-
A well known grower in easternTexas in writing to The Packer asummary of the seasons work says
We have closed one of the mostunprofitable seasons we have everknown in the truck business There-is hardly a trucker here but who hasnot lost out Truckers here arethoroughly demoralized Added tounfavorable weather and other con ¬
ditions we have had the worst man-agement
¬
this year we have everknown and the members of the as-
sociation¬
are to blame and no oneelse I offered them for a weU knownChicago house an advance of 60 ctsfor No 1 tomatoes 40 cts for No2s but nothing on No 3s and theyturned the offer down They shipped-to another city sight attached to billof lading at 50 cts and got their carturned down-
