Occultus Overview of the game: For centuries, the forests and the creatures that inhabit it have been fighting a war against one of nature’s greatest forces; man. Unbeknown to the woodland spirits, the shadows that stalk them are but a manifestation of this- an unbalance, an upset that will shake the forest to its roots, and, ultimately, lead to its demise. But as a sprit, with no other way to navigate other than to possess, live and travel as the very creatures you are trying to protect, you must utilize everything available to you in order to find your way through the dense woodland as well as the obstacles you will have to face and overcome. Player motivation: The role of the player focuses on finding solutions, but this involves a lot of time spent exploring, discovering new places, interactions and possibilities. Genre: Action/Adventure/Puzzle/Process-Simulation. Licence: N/A Target customer: The ideal customer for this product is the kind of person that may like animals/nature. They are neither a casual nor hardcode gamer, but somewhere in between the two- they know how to work a computer and are the kind of person who could quickly adapt to the controls. They are most likely ages 13 and up. Competition: Currently, hardly any games like this exist. The only ones that are even similar are games such as Wolf/Lion(DOS), The Endless Forest, SimAnt(DOS), Lif, etc- These games were either indie projects not granted with a large enough funding, or have simply got lost in time and advancing technology. Despite a lack of advertising and imperfect production, among the target audience there is still a large following behind these games- there is just nothing else available like this at the moment – the market is in decline - an open gap.. and is really crying out for something new. Unique selling points: Occultus aims to be a completely immersive experience. Where the sky extends past the horizon and it feels as though anything is possible, the world and everything around you is literally at the mercy of your fingertips. Never in a game as there been so much control and interaction. With multiple ways to play and unlimited possibilities, this is a game that will just never get boring. Target hardware: PC

Game play features: The passage of time- A day/night cycle, as well as seasonal changes. Very versatile. Almost anything can be interacted with, returning a different response or

reaction depending on current circumstances. Play your way- Storm through the game as the most powerful of beasts. Or live a more

tranquil, simulating existence as one of the creatures. Hunting, being hunted, and even breeding. It’s all up to you.

Multiple ways to solve challenges. Randomly generated worlds. A sandbox mode. Enchanting and captivating by day. A stark contrast- dark, grim and shadowed by night. Limitations – More of a challenge than you might’ve first thought. You can’t simply hop from

animal to animal... Start as something smaller and work your way up.
