A Novel IdeaThe next book club meeting is Wednesday, August 2 from 10:30 a.m.

to noon in the Inn’s Courtyard Suite. This month the book club will

discuss any book you read at the beach this summer. The cost is only

plan ahead? Our September book club meeting will discuss “The Rosie

Project” by Graeme Simsion.

The BIG Trivia ChallengeMembers from all four Gate Hospitality Clubs can participate in The BIG

Trivia Challenge on Friday, August 18! Teams can have up to 8 people

per team, or individuals can make a reservation and will be assigned to

a team. Teams will represent their club, no combinations with other clubs

allowed. A delicious Italian Buffet will be served from 6–7p.m. Tickets

are $25, and guests can enjoy a GHG Trivia Night Lodging Special:

this weekend getaway is $239 plus tax & resort fee, and includes one

night accommodations and 2 tickets to the Trivia Event. Reservations

are required. Call 273-7500 to make reservations. 72-hour cancellation

policy in effect.

PV Date NightParents, this is your chance to get out in the month of August! The

Ponte Vedra Inn & Club Nursery will extend their hours on Saturday,

August 12 from 6 – 9 p.m. for member dining at the Seahorse Grille,

Surf Deck Grille, or the Golf Club Dining Room. Regular Nursery rules

and rates apply. Reservations required and space is limited. Three

hour maximum. Please call the Nursery to reserve your child’s place.

Pancake PJ Party!Kids ages 2–10 can join the fun for our Pancakes & PJ Party on

Featured Instructor: Cindy Stucki Our August featured instructor, Cindy Stucki, has been in the Ponte Vedra Inn &

Club family since 1980. Originally starting as a lifeguard, Cindy has worked with

several departments within the club, including the Golf Pro Shop, the Outpost,

and most recently the PV Spa. Cindy currently helps members get fit through

her Aquacize class on Friday mornings, and she cherishes the many wonderful

relationships she has made over the years.

Labor Day Weekend HoursThe Gym will be open on Labor Day from 7a.m.–3p.m. No Fitness

Classes will be offered that day. Please note that the Nursery will

be closed on Labor Day.

Beach YogaCome and practice yoga in a supportive and fun

environment! Basic Sun Salutation sequences are practiced

while tight areas including hips and shoulders are stretched.

You will leave this class feeling refreshed and energized. This

class is held on the beach in front of The Surf Club Mondays

at 6 p.m. and Sundays at 9:00 a.m.

Weekend ClassesGet a great start to your weekends! Come and try out our high

energy and soothing weekend classes. We feature yoga classes,

beach boot camp, core/strength, Mat Pilates, beach yoga and

will begin at 8:30 a.m. in Individual Stroke Format with both Net

Tuesday Junior ClinicsFollowing our summer program we will continue with the popular

Ladies Beginner ClinicThe “End of Summer” Beginner Ladies Golf Clinic Series

begins this month. This Clinic will be held in 3 Thursday

last one hour. Cost is $35 a day. This fun and educational clinic

will cover basic set up and swing for both irons and woods,

chipping, pitching, putting, golf etiquette, and basic “on

Mixed Doubles TeamsThe Racquet Club will be fielding several teams in the First Coast

Tennis League using combined-levels of 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 and 9.0.

Match Play is Friday evenings at 6:30 p.m. starting in October

and finishing in February. If you are interested in joining or being

a captain, please see Mike Leach or call the Racquet Club. Roster

deadline is early September.

Men’s LeaguesThe First Coast Men’s A, B, and C roster deadline is Tuesday,

Firecracker Mixer RecapIn July, we held our annual “Fire Cracker” mixer, filling over 9 courts

with 36 enthusiastic players. Receiving the awards for most FUN

visors, and bags! Also, at the time you change the grip on

your racket, don’t pile over grips on top of the used grips. We
