Dr. Amanda Hurlbut, Ph.DVisiting Assistant Professor of Curriculum and Instruction

Dr. Amanda Hurlbut is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Elementary Education at UT Arlington where she teaches Child Development and online Master¹s courses in Curriculum and Instruction. During the summer of 2015, she completed her Ph.D. in C & I with a research emphasis on elementary pre-service teacher preparation in issues of inclusion and Response to Intervention practices. She spent over 9 years in the public school system as a first and third grade teacher, instructional specialist, and elementary assistant principal.

Dr. Harrison McCoy• Dr. Harrison McCoy is in his

17th year of teaching. He is certified ELA 5-8, ESL, Tech Apps K-12, Business Ed 9-12. Beginning my 11th year in Arlington ISD. 2015 AISD Junior High Teacher of the Year. He is now teaching Computer Information Applications at Arlington Collegiate HS. Master of Education from UTA.

Using videos with Edmodo• Edmodo does not have its own video viewer

• Embedding the code to your videos is easy

• Your will need to check a video viewer based on your school technology abilities• Youtube.com – blocked on many campuses (especially elementary)• Teachertube.com and SchoolTube.com are viable alternatives• I use Knowmia.com for a lot of my lessons• New application – edpuzzle.com allows embedded comments, video editing,

and formative assessments linked to the video

UT Arlington Master’s in Mind, Brain, and Education

Our work at the SW Center for Mind, Brain and Education seeks to advance the quality of teaching based upon insights gained from the cognitive and neural sciences as well as contribute to research in this new and evolving field.

We build collaborative research relationships with schools, develop research trajectories that profit from the strengths of our faculty and students and maintain a working and teaching laboratory for researchers and graduate students.
