about usOCTAGON CONTRACTING & ENGINEERING is a construction company headquartered in Bucharest (Romania). With a 19.6 million Euro turnover in 2013, large projects in Romania, Iraq, Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey, OCTAGON is one of the major players in the field of geotechnical and civil works in Romania.

Our history began in 2005, when we started our activity with a small, but enthusiastic team.

represented a dynamic period for the company’s activity, supported also by the spectacular growth of the construction market. Residential complex 159 Maresal Averescu (Maresal Averescu

Blvd., Bucharest), office building Olympia Tower (Piata Alba-Iulia, Bucharest), UTI Instal headquarters (Bucharest) are only a few of the residential and office projects we delivered.

20062007

we started the geotechnical works on two projects in Iraq: Al Zawraa Stadium (Baghdad) and Shatt Al Basra 1,250 MW Power Plant (Basra). In the

same year we were awarded the special foundation and superstructure works for building A within the office complex Green Court Bucharest (Bucharest - Gara Herastrau Street), the first project developed by Swedish construction company Skanska, in Romania.

20122013

we became general contractor of the office complex Hermes Business Campus and

we continued the works on Green Court Bucharest- building A. We also started the construction of the office building PC Business Center (7- 9 A Bucharest- Ploiesti National Road).

20132014

at present we are performing superstructure works

for building B of the complex Green Court Bucharest, geotechnical works for the project “Underground Tunnel Piata Presei Libere” (Bucharest) and for the infrastructure projects: rehabilitation of the railway Brasov - Simeria, Coslariu - Sighisoara section, Micasasa - Coslariu segment and Lugoj - Deva Highway, sector 2, sections A, D and E.

2014

was a year of dramatic decline for the construction market, during which OCTAGON managed to

maintain its position and its growth pace. We became geotechnical works subcontractor for one of the biggest office projects in Romania: Hermes Business Campus (Dimitrie Pompeiu Blvd, Bucharest).

20092010

was the year when OCTAGON contracted special foundation,

structural and architectural works, for the project with the highest value in its portfolio, so far: Combined Cycle Power Plant 867 MW OMV - Petrom Brazi.

20102011

brought new expansion opportunities for OCTAGON, with a new segment on the construction market. The company contracted geotechnical

works for the road infrastructure projects: Orastie - Sibiu Motorway and Bucharest - Brasov Motorway. In 2011 OCTAGON also opened its first branch on another continent, in Baghdad (Iraq). Octagon also acquired 58.5% of Comat Electro.

20112012

was a year of activity consolidation and also a year during which we continued the projects started

in the previous year. We have put our efforts and resources into building a professional reputation in this very competitive field.

20072008

was a key year for the company’s evolution: we per-formed

geotechnical works on the tallest office building in Bucharest: Sky Tower (Calea Floreasca).
