St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities is hiring a full time Supported Living Program Assistant Director who is compassionate about assisting individuals with developmental delays. The SLPA Director helps manages and administers the coordination and service delivery components of the Supported Living Program that service individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities has immediate openings for compassionate women to work part time as a House Parent on a PRN basis on 2nd and 3rd shifts in downtown New Albany. Qualified individuals need to fill-in 2 to 3 days each week. Shifts are 4pm to midnight and midnight to 8am throughout the week and on weekends. Your Faith Formation Commission has been very active the past several months for our parishes. The group looked at feedback received through its ministries as well as through the parish survey it conducted over the summer along with talking about, praying about its mission and vision statements before adopting it on behalf of our parishes. The mission statement is as follows: Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the Magisterium of the Catholic Church, the Faith Formation Commission strives to provide the life-long faith formation of our brothers and sisters in Christ in order to know, love, and serve Christ in this life and be happy with Him forever in heaven. Vision statement is: Know + Love + Serve
Special Needs FAITH, FUN & FRIENDS: Did you know we offer Faith Formation for special needs teens & adults through the Deanery? The group has fun, faith activities, prays together and welcomes new friends. Next gathering is Thursday, October 20, 7– 8 pm. Location is the Aquinas Center located in Sellersburg in the school building at St. Joe Hill Campus of St. John Paul II Parish. Meeting space is handicap accessible. that? Prayer and Adoration before the
Blessed Sacrament! During the month of the
Holy Rosary, on Wednesday evenings come pray the rosary
as a community, along with Invocations for Priests starting
at 7:00 pm.
Mysteries of the Rosary - Mysteries of Life: October is the Month of the Rosary. Won’t you come pray and reflect with us? Some days life is joyful and filled with light... some days are simply glorious... and others may be sorrowful... We all live these Mysteries of the Rosary every day. This DVD Series from Family Theater Productions will inspire you with the human and moving stories as you pray the Mysteries of the Rosary and reflect on the Mysteries of life. Join us at the Aquinas Center on Tuesday mornings of October at 10:00 am to pray the rosary and reflect upon the mysteries: October 18 Glorious Mysteries; October 25 Luminous Mysteries. There is no charge for these sessions, but please call and let us know if you will be joining us so we can have the prayer room prepared! HOLIDAY HUSTLE – The 4th annual Holiday Hustle will be held at Hayswood Park on Saturday, November 26. Registration forms can be found on the table in the back of church. You can also register on-line at www.itsyourrace.com. Registration is $25 per
person. There is a $5 discount for teams of 5 or more. See the brochure for additional information.
All members of the Southern Indiana Catholic community are invited to attend the Our Lady of Providence High School Open House on Sunday, Nov. 6, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. This fun and informative event is free and open to the public, with an emphasis on current fifth through eighth grade students and their families. Providence faculty and staff, student ambassadors, alumni, and friends will be on hand to showcase the school’s beautiful facility and extensive offerings including the recently completed chapel. Information regarding curriculum, the House Student Leadership Program, the iPad initiative, theatre, music, clubs and organizations, athletics, and financial assistance will be available. Refreshments will be provided..
The school participates in the Box Tops for Education, Campbell’s Soup labels, Kroger Rewards and Amazon SMILE programs.
ACTIVITIES IN THE WIDER COMMUNITY
St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities will be holding a meeting on
becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Floyd
County to advocate for children that have been abused and/or
neglected. You CAN make a difference. This meeting will be at
our St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities office at 702 E. Market on

Baptism - New parents are required to participate in the Pre-Baptismal Program offered in the months of
February, May, August and November.
Marriage - Before setting a date and making arrangements for your wedding please contact our pastor. The
Archdiocese of Indianapolis requires 6 months of preparation for Marriage.
Anointing of the Sick - Please call our Pastor or the parish office if you wish to be anointed before
surgery or during an illness.
Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) - If you would like to learn about becoming a Catholic please
