Connect Near or Far WithCollective Crafts
Making memories withgrandchildren doesn’t have tohappen face-to-face. Don’t letmiles come between you andyour grandkids—close the gapby providing ways you caninteract together, such aslong-distance craft projects. Sendspecial packages that include allthe items kids need so you cando the project “together.” Hereare some activities that createbonds and can be done nearor far:
Snowman in a box: After asnowfall, send yourgrandchildren all the“ingredients” they need toassemble the perfect snowman.Pack up an old hat, scarf, somebuttons for eyes and a mouthand other accessories. Include aspecial note from you and askthem to send you a picture ofthe snowman you built together.
Multi-step masterpiece. Sketcha scene on a blank canvas orposter board and mail it, alongwith an assortment of washablepaints and paintbrushes tocreate a collaborative workof art.
Joint photo album. Buy a photoalbum and fill the first spreadwith recent pictures of you withfriends and family or you doingthings you enjoy. Mail thealbum to your grandchildrenand ask them to fill the nextspread and send it back. Keeprotating until the book is full.

special occasions! It’s loved byresidents and staff!

1 pkg pretzels1 box cheese Ritz Bitz
1 bag soup crackers1 pkg shoestring potatoes
1 box Cheezits1 box Bugles
1 pkg Hidden Valley Ranchdry mix
1 12 oz. bottle butter-flavorpopcorn oil
Pour all boxes together in a largecontainer. Sprinkle dry ranchmix over all; pour oil over all
and mix well.Bake in oven at 250 degrees for
45 minutes. Stir every 15minutes.
You can substitute/add yourfavorite snack cracker. NOTE:You can reduce the amount ofpopcorn oil if you prefer-still
comes out great!

Trick or Treat?Boo! Halloween is nearly here,
and our community’s littlecreatures of the night will soonbe haunting doorsteps in search
of treats. We’ll be passing outpumpkin signs for those of you
who welcome such visits.Trick-or-treaters are asked to visitonly those homes displaying thepumpkin sign. And don’t forget,all the little ghosts and goblinsare invited to the Halloween
Party from 5-7 p.m. in the INDDining Room. We will playinggames, doing crafts and serving
refreshments. Seating will beavailable for residents who wish
to come down and watch thefun. Residents who wish to helpwith the games please contact
