Connect Near or Far WithCollective Crafts

Making memories withgrandchildren doesn’t have tohappen face-to-face. Don’t letmiles come between you andyour grandkids—close the gapby providing ways you caninteract together, such aslong-distance craft projects. Sendspecial packages that include allthe items kids need so you cando the project “together.” Hereare some activities that createbonds and can be done nearor far:

Snowman in a box: After asnowfall, send yourgrandchildren all the“ingredients” they need toassemble the perfect snowman.Pack up an old hat, scarf, somebuttons for eyes and a mouthand other accessories. Include aspecial note from you and askthem to send you a picture ofthe snowman you built together.

Multi-step masterpiece. Sketcha scene on a blank canvas orposter board and mail it, alongwith an assortment of washablepaints and paintbrushes tocreate a collaborative workof art.

Joint photo album. Buy a photoalbum and fill the first spreadwith recent pictures of you withfriends and family or you doingthings you enjoy. Mail thealbum to your grandchildrenand ask them to fill the nextspread and send it back. Keeprotating until the book is full.
