JIM PATTISON VOLKSWAGEN SURREY HOSTED A QUARTERLY DIVISIONAL MANAGEMENT MEETING

Jim Pattison Volkswagen Surrey hosted the Quarterly Divisional Management

Meeting in August. Our General Managers and the Corporate Office Managing

Directors all met for the breakfast meeting. Thank you to Jim Pattison Volkswagen

Surrey for being such gracious hosts and having the dealership in top notch

condition to show off how amazing our dealerships really are. A special thanks

goes out to Jeff King’s wife for making the most adorable cookies for the event.

No one was a bigger fan than Jimmy himself!

BRAGGING RIGHTS

Jim Pattison Hyundai Coquitlam held a successful staff pot luck on September

26th. They had a beautiful assortment of food ranging from cabbage rolls to sliders.

The staff voted on their favorite dish out of the amazing selection, and Juan

Galdamez won with his homemade guacamole and shrimp rice. Not only did Juan

win bragging rights, he also took home a gift card to Starbucks. Way to go Juan!

THE TERRY FOX RUN FOR CANCER RESEARCH

Nelson Antoine, a Product Advisor with Metro Lexus Toyota Victoria, ran in The

Terry Fox Run for cancer research with his son last month in Victoria, BC. All of

the money raised at The Terry Fox Run goes directly to The Terry Fox Foundation

for cancer research. A donation was made on behalf of Charlie Forrest, Elaine

Forrest’s father, to The Terry Fox Foundation. Thanks to Metro Lexus Toyota

Victoria for their $200 donation to support Nelson and his son to run in the race.

CIBC RUN FOR THE CURE

On Sunday, October 6th, Priscilla Smith, Teresa Foster, and Nathan Stephens

participated in the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure.

With gorgeous sunny weather, Priscilla and her team were able to raise $4,705

for the Foundation that will continue to fund breast cancer research, education

and health promotion initiatives across the country. A huge thanks goes out to

the dealerships at North Surrey Auto Mall for their support and donations towards

this worthy cause.

HITTING IT OUT OF THE PARK

Big Hitters is an internal contest held by some of our dealerships to reward their team with prizes for beating retail targets for the month. Congratulations to Jim Pattison Toyota Surrey, Jim Pattison Toyota Northshore and Metro Lexus Toyota Victoria for hitting those goals!

Metro Lexus Toyota Victoria held a Big Hitters contest in August for a 1-week all-inclusive trip (with their spouses) to Cabo, Mexico. The target for Metro Toyota Victoria was 250 retail units and the team delivered 264, with another 42 units from Metro Lexus Victoria.

Jim Pattison Toyota Northshore hit the jackpot by blowing away their targets for both new and pre-owned vehicle sale for September, earning them a Big Hitter trip to Las Vegas as well! Hats off to the seven member of the Jim Pattison Toyota Northshore team who were able to take on the Vegas Strip, with the highlight of this trip being amazed by the talents of Chris Angel.

Jim Pattison Toyota Surrey also participated in a Big Hitters contest where they also hit their target for the month. Seven members of the Jim Pattison Toyota Surrey team, along with General Manager Jeff Raybould will be hitting up the Las Vegas Strip as their prize!

THE CORVETTE PROJECT

In early September, George at Jim Pattison Volvo of Victoria found a 1978 Corvette Indy Pace Car in Vancouver and turned it into a team building project known as “The Corvette Project”. The car had been in storage for the last 25 years with only 2,400 kms on the dial. After careful research, George decided it would sell well in the Victoria market, so he bought it and set out to restore it to perfection (as you can imagine how it looked after sitting in storage for 25 years).

He asked his team to help with the restoration and presentation. Everyone pitched in and many of the tasks were done voluntarily on their own time. This was a great team-building event for the Service, Sales, Parts, and Detail Departments. They successfully sold the car to a collector in the United States. George was very proud of his team and took them all out to the local Shark Club to celebrate “The Corvette Project” and to thank them for their hard work and dedication.

EUROPEAN DELIVERY ADVENTURE

The European Delivery Program is a unique opportunity for customers to purchase a new custom-built Volvo and explore the roads of Europe. Customers collect their Volvo in Europe and test it out while visiting their favorite destinations before it is delivered back home. Doug and Sandra took advantage of this and had a blast putting over 4,700 km on their new Volvo in less than 2 weeks. Here is what they had to say about their experience:

“Hi Ted,

Just an update to let you know that we had an incredible time in Sweden. Loved the car and put on over 4,700 km in two weeks. The delivery centre was great and took good care of us. Doug had them put on mudguards and install winter mats which they did cheerfully.

This is a fabulous program and we will tell everyone about. We want to do it again as well! The Swedish people were wonderful and kind to us. We drove to Stilling, Denmark and also to Norway. Great roads and good signage made driving fun (except Gothenburg at rush hour).

We understand that the car will be shipped next week and should arrive at your dealership on Oct. 9th. Please save the red plates for us.

We’re attaching a photo of the car in front of a wonderful bed & breakfast we stayed at in Sweden. The house was in the countryside, renovated to mid 1800’s style and filled with antiques. The owner handed us the keys so we had the whole house to ourselves, left us coffee and snacks then returned in the morning to cook us breakfast. Apparently moose are frequently in the yard but we only saw deer that night.

BREAKING GROUND IN VICTORIA

This is an exciting month as we are beginning construction on 2 new Victoria dealerships! Right across the street from where they stand now, a brand new Toyota dealership and Lexus dealership is underway right next to each other on Finlayson Street. Both the Toyota and Lexus dealerships will be ready to go and opened in Q4 2014, giving us lot to look forward to.

OUR SECOND SUBARU DEALERSHIP

Exciting News: The Jim Pattison Auto Group is happy to announce that we are adding a second Subaru dealership to our family! Construction is scheduled to begin this month on this new dealership in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and is slated to open in Summer 2014. Stay tuned for more details over the next year to find out more about this new dealership.
