There is
A Season
Ecclesiastes 3:1
very fall we experience change. For some it is just the simple changing from summer temperatures and green leaves to fall temperatures and leaves with hues of red, orange, yellow and brown. For others it means starting a new school or a new job. It means sending a child off to college and praying that their lives would be grounded in their faith while away. The writer of Ecclesiastes tells us that there are seasons for everything. On October 1st, 1965, the Byrds released a record with the iconic song
E
"Turn, Turn, Turn". The lyrics of the song are taken verbatim from Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, with the exception of 6 words at the end of the final verse. We must come to the realization that no matter what changes we face in life, that God is there with us. And while change can be uncomfortable for some, that it is necessary at times for us to grow in faith.
Perhaps this is a season of change for you. You may be starting fresh in a job or at school, or perhaps you have been af-fected by a death in the past year that at every turn makes you realize that this has been a year of "firsts" without that person.
Change that stretches us actually causes us to grow and adapt in life, and while we never ask for that type of change, it does so much to develop us. God knew and knows everything you will face and He is there with you through it all. We see that displayed in Joshua when the Israelites are about to go in and occupy the promised land. While the land is good, there are obstacles that will come. So God tells Joshua "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”(Joshua 1:9) Likewise Jesus tells us in Matthew that He is with us "until the very end of the age". (Matthew 28:20) So regardless of what we are facing, we have the assurance that whether change is pleasant or change is uncomfortable, JESUS IS WITH US.

WHAT COLOUR IS YOUR TIME? You can’t buy it or stretch it and there’s no refund on spent minutes. Think of your time as having colour. Red equals wasted time. Time not spent achieving goals or wants. Green equals time well spent. This time has redeeming value.
If your life is primarily focused on being productive, but most of your productiveness brings no satisfaction or sense of accomplishment, you are spending your time in the red zone.
If what you are doing, whether it is being productive, relaxing, being with friends and you know it has redeem-ing value, then it is time spent in the green zone. What is most important is not what your activities are, but how those activities contribute to the quality of your life.
Want to live your life in the Green? The first identify your true goals of what YOU want from your time. Pray for God’s direction for guidance with this essential step. Anything that satisfies these goals is green time.
Now you say, what about housework or being stuck in traffic, waiting in line ups, co workers not carrying out their responsibilities, boring job and so on? Moaning and groaning about it is red time, but how could you in-troduce a green element to like situations? Yes it takes effort, but the principle works if you work at it.
Be blessed and go for the green!

Gideon members are EVERYWHERE
in the world. They’re just ordinary folks
sharing the gospel through personal
evangelism and distribution of FREE
copies of God’s Word. These copies
are often found in hotels, schools and
prisons. In Canada, the gospel is be-
ing shared from coast to coast, with
Canadians of all ages, races and
religions—and pointing them to Bible
believing churches nearby. Members
share New Testaments at festivals and
other large gatherings. Over the years,
this organization has seen hardened
criminals become church leaders,
people trapped in desperate circum-
stances discover a brand new begin-
ning, and young people with no future
turn their lives completely upside down
because of the grace and love of
Jesus. To learn more, check out

Gideons for many years.
