October 2016
Hello to all our Fountain East Family members......
We want to start off by THANKING all the FountainEast residents for the WONDERFUL managers’appreciation lunch that was held on Tuesday,September 13th. We cannot express how thankful we
are for your generosity and kindness. Knowing the
things we do for our residents are truly appreciatedmakes all of our hard work and long hours worth every
second of that time spent. Thank you for all you do. We truly feel like we can now comfortably call FountainEast "Our Home."
We are very happy to mention that Cleo is back on ourteam, taking care of the maintenance responsibilitiesaround the park. Welcome Home, Cleo!
Since we started the "pick up after your pet" fineprogram, it seems that the problem has gotten worseinstead of better so we will be putting up cameras incertain locations to catch whoever is not abiding by thisrule. It should not make anyone angry unless that is theperson receiving the fine. We would also like toencourage our residents to keep a watchful eye. If yousee someone not picking up after their pet, you mayreport it but only if there is photo documentation. Remember that these people are flaunting the rulesthat you have chosen to abide by.
Although it is a long time from now, we want to giveeveryone fair warning that the pool will be closed for 2weeks in January in order to have the pool deckreconditioned and recoated. We know it will be aninconvenience, but the city is requiring this be done.
Thank you all for being the best residents in Arizona. We are looking forward to seeing all of our winterresidents very soon.
Bill & Donna Your Fountain East Management Team

new people and become more familiar with the park in general.

Hi everyone, I hope you all are getting excited about being back to Fountain East soon. Summers are
wonderful, but for me Fountain East is the best place to be!! Our monthly book club will be starting up again
in November. We would love for those interested in delving into reading a variety of books and having a
robust discussion on them to join us. We love bringing the joys of reading to as many as possible!! And we
always share a dessert. The November book for discussion is one I think everyone will enjoy. It is "THE
HUNDRED-FOOT JOURNEY" by Richard C. Morais. It was made into a movie which was produced by

LABOR DAY LUNCHEONSeventy-six residents and guests enjoyed the annual baked potato lunch on September 5. Many attendees
were right in the ‘70's mood wearing their tie-dyes, bell bottoms, love beads and of course, long hair. There
was “peace” everywhere.
The event was chaired by Joanne Rebilas and Alice Spearman who thank their helpers: Marcy Carroll and
Jean Ringwald for making the salads; Betty Copas for doing the bacon; Bertha Cabana, Page Wilson, Connie
Coleman, Lynn Carrell, and Carolyn Taylor for making the cobblers; Jan and Kenny Wilhite for cleaning all
the potatoes and baking some of them.
Many thanks also go to all who moved the tables and stayed to help clean up. A special thank you to Ted
Peterson for mopping the floor.
Prizes were awarded for different costume categories
(winners on the left). Then names were drawn for prizes which
amounted to gift certificates worth a total of over $600.
Happy birthday wishes were sent to Tony
Ringwald (below) on celebrating his 89th
birthday!
Thank you Alice and Joanne
for a remarkable day! We
appreciate all your hard
work.

On Tuesday, September 13 close to eighty residents gathered in the clubhouse to show their appreciation
for the management team of Fountain East. Bill, Donna, Bernie and Cleo were the guests of honor at this
potluck luncheon. Carole Burrows organized the event. She presented the team with a card signed by the
residents then did several readings about “old folks” (which, of course, did not apply to any of us!). It was
a great day and a wonderful way to show our team how much their hard work and efforts on our behalf
mean.
