Letters of Recommendation
It’s the time of year to letters of recommendation for scholarship and applica-
tions. Follow these rules for getting a letter of rec.
1. Ask your teacher/counselor/faculty member early! They’re busy and need
plenty of time to craft a nice letter for you. Don’t wait until the week it’s due.
2. Once they’ve said yes, come to the guidance office and pick up a letter of rec-
ommendation tri-fold. Make sure that you fill out the entire thing!
3. Turn the tri-fold in to the person who’s writing you the letter. They will use it to
craft their letter.
4. About a week before the letter is due, gently remind the person writing the
letter that the due date is coming up if they haven’t finished it.
5. Thank them for taking the time to write you a letter.
A reminder for seeing your counselor:
Remember that this year things
are bit different! If you need to
see your counselor, you will
have to fill out a green slip
(located on Mrs. Mossoian’s
desk) and put it in your guid-
ance counselor’s mailbox. Please remember to fill out the entire green slip and
don’t be vague about what you need to discuss with your counselor. Your counse-
lor will do their best to call you down within one day.
