Spring is a celebratory season in the Perth Hills. Wildflowers pattern the hillsides, creeks are replenished by winter rain, and walking trails, cafés and galleries welcome a surge in city visitors. Add to these pleasures a weekend of superb chamber music and fine food and you have an irresistible

combination. That is what is on offer at the inaugural Darlington Chamber Music Spring Festival.

This exciting event is offered by the musicians of Darlington Concerts who, twelve years ago, launched the hugely successful Darlington Chamber Music series in the historic hills village. Audiences – and

guest musicians – have applauded this initiative to restore the intimacy of chamber music in the old stone village hall in Darlington.

Whilst the Darlington Hall is the home for Darlington Concerts through the winter, the group’s inaugural Chamber Music Spring Festival will feature three new venues to let our guests enjoy the

individual talents of the musicians in historic and interesting buildings.

Darlington’s picturesque stone church with its beautiful stained glass windows will accommodate the first concert performed by

the much-acclaimed Darlington String Quartet; the second features soprano Sara Macliver, whose rich tones will fill the beautiful chapel at Guildford Grammar School; and the final concert offers the scenic

hillside vineyard of Darlington Estate Winery as the backdrop for Schubert’s peerless “Trout“ Quintet. With the accompaniment of a splendid feast prepared by the vineyard chefs, this will be a fitting

finale to a memorable weekend.
