In the song ‘In Christ Alone’ we read “For I am His, and He is mine.” We belong to Christ – and He be- longs to us. But what does that really mean But what does that really mean But what does that really mean But what does that really mean ? It is more wonderful than we can truly imagine! We belong to Christ – he is our Master – our Savior. He has redeemed us from sin and death; purchased us with his own blood. And he belongs to us – his wisdom, power and grace are available to us. We inherit eternity because of Him! But what does that mean for our marriages – our children and grandchildren – our jobs – our possessions? Is stewardship more than just giving money to the church once in a while? Currently a member of Asbury along with Sue and John Fisher, she helped establish the Healing Hats Ministry providing hats and prayers for cancer patients throughout the metro area. Her group, Knotty Ladies, teaches knitting and crochet to all who come. She also teaches Sunday School. MEET OUR NEW MEMBERS! In one of the most popular newer hymns/ worship songs “In Christ Alone” we find these lyrics: In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This Cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.’ Where do we find hope? Where do we place our trust? Come next Sunday as we begin to think about hope and where we really put our trust. 2 Corinthians 1:8-11 8 We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sis- ters, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. 9 Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this hap- pened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. 10 He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, 11 as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many. (NIV) . Don’t forget — NEXT WEEK WE’RE BACK TO STANDARD TIME.
