MEET NEW VICE-RECTOR: CANON MICHAEL STEIN
Dear Faithful of the Shrine, I am very happy to write you from our African missions in Ga-bon, and I greatly look forward to becoming your Vice-Rector in a couple of weeks. I have already had the grace to be in Chi-cago on brief visits: twice as a seminarian and twice as a priest, including a “First Mass” back in 2010. I have very fond memo-
ries of each trip and I cannot wait to serve you at the Shrine of Christ the King. The month of the Holy Rosary is upon us. Let us not only seek to recite the rosary daily with devotion, but also to live each mystery in our everyday life. For example, we all have joyful, sorrowful and glorious moments in our lives: the joy of knowing a Japanese Canon or baptizing hundreds of Gabonese; the sorrow of separation or countless trials; the glory of sacraments received and majestic liturgical ceremonies. The fruit of the first glorious mystery is Faith. During this Year of Faith, may the rosary be our heavenly guide. If we meditate the mysteries of the life of Our Savior, our Faith will not only be instructed, but also motivated and in-flamed. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us! Rev. Canon Michael Stein
