TRANSCRIPT
As s I contemplate the month that is before us I can only find one word that fits, “Blessed”. Perhaps it is because Darren and I will soon be welcoming our first grandchild, or it may be in response to the way God is working in our church and in our ministry together. It is almost indescribable how God is igniting ministry in our church. There is a buzz from those getting ready for the Old Tyme Fair. Sunday school is filled with noise, songs, prayer, and creativity. Our Choir is up and growing, Folks are sharing stories of the summer and seeking out ways to share their gifts in discipleship.
I just feel blessed at the way God is able to be present in so many ways at Auburn United Methodist Church. As we continue to get to know one another my prayer is that we are able to see where grace is needed, in the changes that are taking place, and in our ministry together. I truly believe God has brought us together for such a time as this. Know that I love you and see the blessings that lie before us.
With hope for peace,
Pastor Beth

AUMC & Life Works will hostElection Night Ziti and Meatball Dinner
We will be teaming up with Life Works this year to bring back an Election Night Dinner. This has been a major fund raiser in the past, so let’s get busy! Life Works will make the meatballs and cook the dinner. We will set and wait tables as well as provide desserts! We can make this the best Election Night dinner in town! We will have more details after the Fair, but if you want to know how you can help, See Mike Deming 315-252-2390
OLDE TYME FAIRIt will be here before you know it. We still need so many items for the ktchen and the BBQ. Lists can be found in the back hall. As always, we need HELP.
There are sign ups for EVERYTHING.
On Sunday, September 30th, we wil start setting up. We will meet here at 6:30 p.m. and “get the party started”. We will be joined by our Youth Group and the moving and carrying will begin. It will be easier to do a little every day than try and set everything up on Friday the 6th. Come see how it all happens!
This is not a new story…you know we need groceries and charcoal and even cash to make this happen. Pray about it folks. Find how God is calling you to serve.
The Starbuck Scholarship Fund, thanks to the generosity of Bob Keil, Wilbur Townsend, and the Starbuck family, has provided several hundred scholarships over the last 35 years to the college bound youth of our congregation. In addition to providing for students’ educational needs, the Scholarship Fund has retained substantial assets which enables us to continue this ministry. In 2018 we were able to award scholarships totaling $15,200.00 to seven college bound congregants. An additional $9,700 in Townsend Scholarships will be awarded to two students who have played an active role in the life of our church.Again this year the Starbuck Scholarship Fund had the pleasure of awarding 20 Camperships to Camp Casowasco, totaling $8,755.00.It is the Committee’s hope that the recipients of these Camperships and Scholarships will continue to have an active role in the life of our church today and into the future. May God bless them all.
