PRO LIFE MONTH & OUR MARIAN STATUE
October is pro life month. Unfortunately, our pro life statue outside the Baptisry was broken and could not be repaired. You will remember that Ed Kurtenbach and the Knights of Columbus
did a great job of building that beautiful area in the 1990’s, when I was their spiritual director.
Cel came forward to offer a statue from her home, and paid to
have the grotto altered to accommodate the larger Marian statue. It is beautiful. Many thanks to the Hickok family.

Fr. Tom

DID YOU KNOW? As a caring adult, you scope out potential dangers in the areas where a child may be for school, birthday parties, playdates, outings with friends, etc. Another danger to add to your list is the poten-tial for a child to be lured away into a private area by a predator. Abuse can happen anywhere, even in the most public of places, and parents should be aware of any secluded spots that a predator might use. Avoid spaces where a predator could take action – turn on lights, check empty rooms, and patrol sleeping or playing spaces. To receive a copy of the VIRTUS© online article “Premises Safety…Always a High Priority,” email [email protected] or call (213) 637-7227.
