So I left the states on the 21st of Octoberto come to Thailand!!! I flew from Los Angeles to Seoul South Korea. Then from Seoul to Bangkok - I was a bit delayed in Seoul so I didn't end up getting to Bangkok til 1am on the 23rd of October!!! The first weeks I was here was just training and getting ready for the school. Right now is already the 2nd week of the school and I am completely lovingThailand!!! There are 1 1 students and 8 staff - we are a very international school. We have people from America, Canada, Philippines, Russia, Thailand, South Korea, and H olland. It has been amazi ngto be staff and working together with the other people on the team. We work in 2 slum communities - we have ministry on Wednesday and Saturdays. On Wednesdays we partner with anotherministry called ARK International (ARKmeans At risk k ids). In this there are kids from both communities that we work with. We do teaching, games, songs, and healthcare teaching. On Saturdays we also do ministry with one of the communitie s and also do different teachings. The first week of the school was orientation about the school and also about Thai cu lture. I learned so man ynew things about the Thai culture. Some interestin g things that I learned like theybelieve the head is the holiest part of the body and feet are lowest dirtiest part - so you have to be careful as the way you sit - to not point your feet at people. Also I love Thai food its really amazing - some is veryspicy but some is in between and I love it!!! In Thailand rice is the main staple food but also noodles. I am very excit ed about this new season of my life and what God is doing in and through me in Thailand. I hav e learned some of the language - still trying as Thai is a hard language to learn (as Thai is a tonal language). I am also gettin g used to the weather here - as it has been hot and its also humid. Its crazy as this cool s eason and I feel like its so hot!!!
