To Those I Love and Those Who Love Me
When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do. You must-
n’t tie yourself to me with tears, be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love and you can only guess, how much you gave me in happiness. I
thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it’s time I traveled on alone.
So grieve awhile for me, if grieve you must. Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It’s only for a while that we must part so bless the memories within your heart.
I won’t be far away, for life goes on, so, if you need me, call and I will come. Though
you can’t see or touch me, I’ll be near, and if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear all
my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone, I’ll greet you with a smile and say…
“Welcome Home.”

bÜwxÜ Éy fxÜä|vxbu|àâtÜçBobbie Gatson was one of three sons born in
naylor, Georgia, to the late Frank and Juanita Gatson on
March 11, 1927. He received his formal education in the
public school system of naylor where he resided, until
moving to Jacksonville, Florida.
He began his early career with Fouraker Lumber
Company as a truck driver. Bobbie enjoyed driving
trucks, and served in that capacity for almost seventy
years. His greatest professional accomplishment was re-
alizing his dream of becoming an independent owner/op-
erator.
After retiring from the trucking industry, Bobbie contin-
ued to work with his hands, a job/hobby of passion. He
was known as a skilled craftsman and handyman through-
out the community of Jacksonville.
Bobbie was a soft spoken and gentle man who
lived a well-meaning Christian life, helping others wher-
ever he could. When not working, you could find Bobbie
watching his favorite sport, boxing with friends.
Bobbie married his sweetheart on January 25,
1949. He was a devoted, loving, and hard-working hus-
band, father and grandfather.
He leaves to cherish his fondest memories: a lov-
ing wife of sixty-seven years, Janie Gatson; three daugh-
ters, Cherrilynn (Ronald) Moore, Bobbye Jeanne Bell,
and pamcelia (Anthony) Ivey; three grandsons, Greg Gat-
son, Brenton Stowers, and Zain Hawkins; five grand-
daughters, Cherise Hylton, Victoria Coleman, natasha
pachecker, Letricia Gatson and Erica Gillespie, 12 great-
grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and
beloved friends, including a convoy of truckers and a spe-
cial “godchild”, Rosco Stanley. He was preceded in death
by his parents, Frank and Juanita Gatson, brothers, Frank
Gatson and Alfred Gatson and son Seth Gatson. He will
be deeply missed by all who knew him.
