The love of neighbor is questioned and craving for luxurious life and accumulating things to create comfort zones have become the top priorities in the modern world. In this context, what is our role? What should be our mission? Our vision and mission need a different strategic plans and actions. I have heard from our elderly brothers saying that they were with the people throughout the week and return to our communities only at the weekend. Today, we are fully occupied with our institutional works throughout the week and we find it very difficult to meet the people even at the weekend. In those days, our brothers went to the villages to meet and work with the people but today we expect the people to come to our institutions just to get the works done. It is the right time to introspect ourselves and make radical changes in our mission strategies. As we celebrate the feast of the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary on 8 th of September, let us seek her blessings to carry out our mission to the people who are in need as she did to Elizabeth. The other example is MOTHER TERESA who really reached out the people and touched the hearts of many through her simple works with great love. As a committed religious, she spent all her times with the needy and radiated God’s unconditional love with the unloved ones. I wish and pray that the missionary zeal of Mother Theresa inspire us to live the charism of our institute “Preaching the good news to the poor in the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus”. I am also happy to greet all the teachers on the occasion of the Teachers’ Day on 5 th of September, who are rendering their selfless service in our educational institutions. Let us wish and appreciate all the Brothers who are celebrating their Birthdays and Feast days in this month. May I also request you to remember all the brothers who had rested in the Lord in this month in your daily prayers. • Untimely demise of Bro. antony adimai has come as a bolt in the marrow. We have lost a good soul, great companion, humble disciple of God who strove against all the odds to prove himself as God’s wonder and his unwavering strength. i think sharing our grief would help us ease our burdens. as i began to reach out for the right words to express my thoughts about Brother Tony, i remembered the many valued and meaningful roles that he played throughout his life. Our brother may have meant something to every one of us; personally, he was a guardian angel for many of the younger brothers of our Caussanel Province.

as a Director of Junior Brothers, he was also very endearing. He was a very loyal and kind formatter. He was remarkable in so many ways. He lived his life to the fullest and touched so many people during his time here with us; He loved his mother society profoundly. He was a devoted brother and friend. Looking back, he was always a religious man.

Brother Tony played all of the roles in his life at our congregation with more responsibility. He was at his happiest when he was surrounded by the small children especially the semi orphans - even during those inevitable tough times of his life. His devotion to Mother Mary was the foundation of his actions - the anchor that defined and shaped his life. i saw him a religious who defiant and unwilling to settle for less. He lived a principled life underpinned by a strong sense of right and wrong.

as i turn the next page of Brother Tony’s life, i see the friend. Whether you needed simple advice, an empathetic ear, a shoulder to lean on; companionable silence, a listener if you will; if all you wanted was a pass the time, he was your man; ready, steadfast, willing and good fun. i’m sure you all will remember him in your very own special way.

i see him as a respected leader. He shared his expertise with anyone who would listen, he worked hard and consistently and he remained a student of life. He never stopped learning especially through his loving brothers and students. He never sat back and became complacent. He led by example as he mentored his nephews and nieces and boarding children in a way that anyone of them can say that he was an inspiration in their lives.

He loved seeing Sacred Heart Home children involved in sports and activities that built character. His pride was to see those children grow spiritually, physically and psychologically.

He also believed that when a person passed away, it was simply a part of God’s plan. i take comfort in knowing that he is at heaven now with our Lord and Savior

The physical reality of Bro. antony adimai has gone but his footprints remains and his life - and his death. While we are here, our task is to live our life fully, to seek happiness and to love each other. Brother, May your soul rest in peace.

    - Br. Sunil

O Mother of God, accept these salutations in union with the respect and veneration with which he Angel Gabriel first hailed you “Full of Grace”, I wish mot sincerely that they may become so many gems in the crown of your Heavenly glory, which will increase in brightness to the end of the world. I beseech you, O Comfortress of the afflicted, by the joy you received, when the Word was made Flesh, to obtain for me the Favours and Graces, which I have now implored through your Powerful intercession. For this end I offer you all the good works, which have ever been performed in your honour, I most humbly entreat you, for the love of the amiable heart of Jesus, with which yours was ever so inflamed, to hear my humble prayers and obtain my requests. Amen.
