Instructor• Able to offer students textbooks at

no cost• Able to use more than one textbook

to fit the needs of the class without causing students financial difficulty or frustration with you for not utilizing resources they were required to purchase for your class

Student enrolled or not•Able to access textbooks from anywhere as long as they have something to access the internet•Able to access anything they are interested in and would like to learn – and interact with material•Able to print the resources at low cost if they do desire the text in paper format

Open Educational Resources for Instructors

Use only a couple chapters.Have you ever wanted to just use a couple chapters from a textbook but chose not to because you did not want to have the students pay for the whole book? OER is the answer.

Adapt a course.Where else can you choose a course that you would like to use for your class and adapt the material to fit your purposes and then share it again with others? OER again…

Quality Resources

• Courses are available from prestigious universities such as Harvard, Stanford, Berkeley, Princeton, MIT, and Yale. Now not only the wealthy can “attend” prestigious universities!

• Those utilizing the resources can interact with information in a variety of ways though tutoring, or exercises.

• Textbooks can be accessed which many would not normally be able to get their hands on as cost would be prohibitive.

Resources can be accessed any time day or night; anyone can learn

at their own speed.
