Exploring Open Educational Resources Workshop @ EE2010

Thursday 8th July 2010

Your task is to create teaching sessions in outline utilising Open Educational Resources to supplement your own knowledge and input.

The aims are:– To explore the availability of OER– To investigate how to re use OER within your own materials.– To create an outline of one or more teaching sessions on

• Electric Circuits • Dynamics • Structures• Thermodynamics • Strength of Materials• Engineering Design

How you teach and what you teach is entirely up to you.– Try to create an outline for one teaching session and one tutorial, coursework or assessment. However

if you want to do things differently feel free to do so, we do not want to limit how you experiment in your groups.

– Try to tailor the sessions to suit the level of resources available. You may want to set the level at 1 st year undergraduates rather than postgrad. as the resources to utilise may not be available.

N.B.

Remember this does not need to be 100% from existing OER. Only include what you want to reuse to compliment your own resources. Try to look for resources and content that would help you save time and effort.

That said if there is an entire resource you would use, OER does not prevent this.
