Your accommodationFinding a great place to live is important. The guide below can help you decide which type of accommodation will suit you best. Before you know it, you’ll be calling it your home away from home! If this is your first time studying in Adelaide, we’re here to help arrange accommodation for you.
Eynesbury Homeaway Make new friends! Eynesbury has its own purpose-built student residence called Homeaway. There are two residences available, from 1.5km - 3km from the city centre. Our chef cooks delicious meals for you and all bedrooms are fully furnished, including an air conditioner and access to a fridge.
$330- $350 per week
All meals provided
Your own fully furnished bedroom
Shared bathroom / ensuite bathroom (limited numbers)
Public transport and phone are not included.
Homestay Live like a local! Homestay accommodation gives you the opportunity to live with a local family in their home. You’ll get to use English in everyday situations and experience the Australian lifestyle. All homestay hosts have met safety and welfare requirements.
$290 per week (meals included)
$200 per week (cook your own meals)*
Your own fully furnished bedroom
Shared bathroom
Public transport and phone are not included. Internet is included.
* Students under 18 must take the all meals option
If you're under 18 years old, or in our High School Year 10 or 11, we need to take extra care of you. Your choices are marked with this symbol
Affordable living Adelaide is around 20% cheaper to live in than Melbourne or Sydney

Student apartments and residencesGreat locations! Student residences are usually located in the suburban areas, where you can get to know the real Adelaide lifestyle. Shopping centres and parks are at your door-step. Student apartments are located in the city centre and will generally cost a little more, however you are usually close enough to walk to college.
$145 - $230 per week at student residences
$220 - $450/ week in an apartment
Cook your own meals
Your own fully furnished bedroom
Shared bathroom $145 - $335
En-suite bathroom $200-$450
Phone and meals are not included. Check with the manager if electricity, insurance and internet are included. For residences you will also need to budget for public transport.
www.urbanest.com.au www.unilodge.com.au www.atira.com
www.tvir.biz www.aiv.com.au
All accommodation types will require a bond to be paid. This is usually a dollar amount equal to 2 - 4 weeks’ rent. The bond is a separate payment and is not the same thing as paying rent in advance. For independent rental the bond is lodged with the State Government and will be reimbursed when you move out, provided there is no damage to the property and no outstanding rent or bills. You also need to give a minimum amount of notice if you decide to leave your accommodation. *Prices are current at the time of printing and may be subject to change.
Independent accommodation Independent rental can be a great option once you know your way around Adelaide. It can also be less expensive, particularly if you’re sharing with other people.
Visit www.realestate.com.au and select ‘rent’ then enter Adelaide or the name of the suburb you’d like to live in. These are normal rental homes. There will be at least 1 bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Bigger houses may have 3 or 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
Be careful that you fully understand the terms of any independent rental contract you sign. This type of accommodation is not arranged by Eynesbury. We do not recommend independent rental unless you’re already living in Adelaide and feel confident to find your own accommodation. You will be required to sign a lease for 6 or 12 months and will be responsible for rent for the length of the contract. All agreements must be signed in English.
$200+ per week for 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom. $400+ for a larger house.
Most rental properties are not furnished. You will need to buy furniture, cutlery, crockery, bed linen, towels and electrical equipment. You will also need to cover the cost of the electricity, gas and water for the house, plus your own food costs and public transport (if in suburban area).
If you’re over 18 years old, there are a few more options. You can choose Homeaway or Homestay, or select from these additional options.
