Small groups

In your small groups, using the photographs as inspiration, discuss how your character would narrate his or her autobiographical account. The photographs can serve as a way of giving weight to the economic struggle the characters face in the novella.

Individual Practice

Taking the ideas garnered from group discussion, write a faux autobiographical account of the character. Use their tone, diction, and intelligence. Briefly describe a back story then tie that into their point of view on something that happened in chapters 3 or 4.
