Mrs. Gorc'on spent the Winter months in Washington at the home of her daughter and she will remain there another six weeks before returning to her Bed ford Hills home for the Summer , months. Rehearsals for a three-act play, "Nobody But Nancy" began this week at the parish house of the Eedford Hills Methodist Church The play will be presented for the benefit of the church on Friday night, June 5, at the parish house Mrs. Arthur Bloom is serving as director and taking part in the play will be ten young people from the Methodist Youth Fellowship and *he Intermediate x Fellowship The Intermediate Youth Fel lowship will hold its regular meet ing tomorrow afternoon at o'clock in the Bedford Hills Memo dist Church and on Saturday at 10 a.m. they will go the Crossroads Mount Kisco for their monthly bowling meeting. Their former home on South Beechwood Road is now owned by Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Bluestem and family who have moved here from Croton-on Hudson. Judy Lent, twelve - year - old daughter of Mr. and Mrs Sheldon Lent of Katonah, former resients of Bedford Hills, underwent an emergency appendectomy at the Northern Westchester Hospital on Friday evening. Mrs. Arthur Burgess, mother of Mrs. Harry E . Qumn of Robinson Avenue, Bedford Hills, is visiting in Mississippi City, Miss, with her son-in-law and daughter, Major and Mrs. William R. Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Vincent and four children, Wendy, Robert Peter and Roger, have returned t their home on Springhurst Road. Bedford Hills, after spend ing Easter vacation at Fort Lau- derdale, Fla. Wendy and Robert returned on Monday and Tuesday of last week to resume studies at Vassar College and Dartmouth College, respectively and the rest of the family returned on Satur day. William Dieal Sr. was confined his home for a few days last week recovering from injuries sustained in a fall at his home on Church St., Bedford Hills. Mrs. Augustus Hall Jr. returned to her home on Payne St.. Bed- ford Hills, on Friday from the Northern Westchester Hospit- al where she *vas confined for a week. She was ill with the virus "bug" making the rounds in this vicinty. Chiekenpox Mark Area Seventeen new cases of com municable disease were reported by the Department of Health of Westchester County for the week ending March 28. Eight cases of chiekenpox were divided as follows: one each in Briarcliff, Pleasantville, Mount Pleasant and Cortlandt and four in Peekskill. German measles were found one case each in Briarcliff Manor and Ossining and two in Ossining Village. One case each of regular measles were reported from Os- sining Village and Peekskill; Briarcliff Manor and Ossining had one case each of strep throat and New Castle had one case of in- ectious hepatitis. Nelson as' minister of Music. Prof- Nelson comes to the Katonah Church from the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Peekskill, where he has been organist, and will take up his new duties on Sunday. Prior to his work in Peekskill, Prof. Nelson's experience in church music includes ten years as director of the Bethany A Cap- pella Choir and Minister of Music of Bethany Lutheran Church in Erie, Pa.; director of music of the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Ith- aca, N. Y.; director of music at First Presbyterian Church. Green- boro, N.C. and just prior to re- turning north, was Minister of Mu- sic of the First Lutheran Church in Greensboro. From 1947 to 1954, Prof. Nelson was Dean of the School of Music of Greensboro Col- lege. In Music's "Who's Who" Mr. Nelson has appeared as con- ductor at numerous school and church music festivals, and has taught on the faculty of the Luth- cridge (N.C.) Church Music In- stitute. He has appeared as lec- turer on Church Music before civ- ic and college audiences and on television. As a member of the Society of Church Musicians, he has contributed articles to "Chor- al and Choir Guide"- a national professional journal. He is a past dean of the Piedmont Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. His published compositions include many sacred choral works. Prof. Nelson was graduated from the Ithaca Conservatory; he re- ceived his B.S. in Music from Ith- aca College and his Masters in Music from Northwestern Univer- sity. In 1943 he was elected an Associate of the Leschetizsky As- sociation on America. His name is listed in "Who Is Who In Music". "Who's Who in the South and Southwest", the "Biographical Directory of American Scholars" and "Music and Dance in the Southeastern States." Airman Dolan and his bride ex pect to arrive in Bedford Hills sometime in July when he has a furlough. He will have served his four-year enlistment in October ^tf tliis year. The Intermediate Youth Fel lowship will hold its regular meet ing tomorrow afternoon at o'clock in the Bedford Hills Memo dist Church and on Saturday at 10 a.m. they will go the Crossroads Mount Kisco for their monthly bowling meeting.

Road, Bedford Hills, has recovered from several week's illness and on Monday was able to resume his position as principal of the Bed­ford Elementary School.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Staiger and four children are living temporar­ily in Stamford, Conn, until they are able to move into their new home on South Beechwood Road, Bedford Hills, now under construc­tion. Their former home on South Beechwood Road is now owned by Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Bluestem

and family who have moved here from Croton-on Hudson.

Judy Lent, twelve - year - old daughter of Mr. and Mrs Sheldon Lent of Katonah, former resients of Bedford Hills, underwent an emergency appendectomy at the Northern Westchester Hospital on Friday evening.

Mrs. Arthur Burgess, mother of Mrs. Harry E . Qumn of Robinson Avenue, Bedford Hills, is visiting in Mississippi City, Miss, with her son-in-law and daughter, Major and Mrs. William R. Smith.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Vincent and four children, Wendy, Robert Peter and Roger, have returned t their home on Springhurst Road. Bedford Hills, after spend ing Easter vacation at Fort Lau­derdale, Fla. Wendy and Robert returned on Monday and Tuesday of last week to resume studies at Vassar College and Dartmouth College, respectively and the rest of the family returned on Satur day.

William Dieal Sr. was confined his home for a few days last

week recovering from injuries sustained in a fall at his home on Church St., Bedford Hills.

Mrs. Augustus Hall J r . returned to her home on Payne St.. Bed­ford Hills, on Friday from the N o r t h e r n Westchester Hospit­al where she *vas confined for a week. She was ill with the virus "bug" making the rounds in this vicinty.

Upper classes in The Bedford Hills Methodist Church School will travel to New York on Saturday, April 25, t j attend a matinee per­formance of the circus at Madi­son Square Garden.

Chiekenpox Mark Area

Seventeen new cases of com municable disease were reported by the Department of Health of Westchester County for the week ending March 28.

Eight cases of chiekenpox were divided as follows: one each in Briarcliff, Pleasantville, Mount Pleasant and Cortlandt and four in Peekskill.

German measles were found one case each in Briarcliff Manor and Ossining and two in Ossining Village. One case each of regular measles were reported from Os­sining Village and Peekskill; Briarcliff Manor and Ossining had one case each of strep throat and New Castle had one case of in-ectious hepatitis.

TWIN MOTHERS TO MEET The Twin Mothers Club of

Northern Westchester and Putnam Counties will hold its regular meeting this evening in the Ka-toriah Library, beginning at 8:30 P . M . with Supervising Principal Dominick Lazarro of the Katonah Elementary School as guest speaker. Mr. Lazzaro will take as his topic, "Twin in School." There will be a coffee hour follow­ing the meeting. All parents of twins are welcome.

Mr. and Mrs. George Graniero of 19 Crescent Terrace. Bedford Hills, have announced the birth of their third child, a son, born on Friday, April 3, at the Northern Westchester Hospital. The infant weighed in at six pounds thirteen and a half ounces and has been named Douglas.

The Granieros now have three sons. Their older ones are Michael three, and George Edward, seven-een months.

Mrs. Graniero is the former Miss Delia Crandall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe E . Crandall Sr. of 370 Lexington Avenue, Mount Kisco. The Crandalls welcomed their ninth grandchild, all boys.

The newcomer's paternal grand­parents are Mr. and Mrs. Michael Graniero of Church Street, Bed­ford Hills, who now have four grandsons and one granddaughter.

Elisha Keeler To Call for Square Dance

Featuring Elisha C . Keeler of South Salem as "caller' ' the Square Dance to be held in the Katonah Memorial House on Fri­day evening, April 17, is attract­ing unusual atention, it was stat­ed this week by Mrs. Seymour W. Strong, president of The Woman's Auxiliary of St. Luke's Church, Kr.tonah sponsors of t h 2 event.

Mrs. Oliver W. Barbour, co-chairman of the affair with Mrs. Herbert Thompson, emphasized that "all who enjoy dancing will hove a gala time as they par­ticipate in the program directed by Mr. Keeler.

Mrs. Barbour said that the South Salem man "has few equals as a square dance cal ler / ' .She add­ed .that Mr. Keeler has jbeen seen on stage and screen and has made many radio appearances. Of par­ticular interest, Mrs. Barbour* said, was Mr. Keeler's appearance last year as guest artist in a ballet number by George Balanchine in the New York City Ballet. Mr. Kteler's work has been the subject ot numerous articles in local and New York City newspapers and in national magazines.

Included in the admission price, the co-chairmen noted, are re­freshments which will be served at intermission.

The commission on music and worship of the Katonah Methodist Church has announced the appoint­ment of Prof. Gustav A . Nelson as' minister of Music. Prof- Nelson comes to the Katonah Church from the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Peekskill, where he has been organist, and will take up his new duties on Sunday.

Prior to his work in Peekskill, Prof. Nelson's experience in church music includes ten years as director of the Bethany A Cap-pella Choir and Minister of Music of Bethany Lutheran Church in Erie, Pa.; director of music of the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Ith­aca, N. Y . ; director of music at First Presbyterian Church. Green-boro, N.C. and just prior to re­turning north, was Minister of Mu­sic of the First Lutheran Church in Greensboro. From 1947 to 1954, Prof. Nelson was Dean of the School of Music of Greensboro Col­lege.

In Music's "Who's Who" Mr. Nelson has appeared as con­

ductor at numerous school and church music festivals, and has taught on the faculty of the Luth-cridge (N.C.) Church Music In­stitute. He has appeared as lec­turer on Church Music before civ­ic and college audiences and on television. As a member of the Society of Church Musicians, he has contributed articles to "Chor­al and Choir Guide"- a national professional journal. He is a past dean of the Piedmont Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. His published compositions include many sacred choral works.

Prof. Nelson was graduated from the Ithaca Conservatory; he re­ceived his B.S. in Music from Ith­aca College and his Masters in Music from Northwestern Univer­sity. In 1943 he was elected an Associate of the Leschetizsky As­sociation on America. His name is listed in "Who Is Who In Music". "Who's Who in the South and Southwest", t h e "Biographical Directory of American Scholars" and "Music and Dance in the Southeastern States."

In addition to his church work, Prof. Nelson has held several po­sitions in public schools and col­leges, and continues to teach pi­ano, his concertizing medium. A/2c Robert Dolan, Carole Mcintosh Wed in Oklahoma

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dolan Sr. o: Bedford Hills received word on Easter Sunday that their son, A-2c Robert Dolan stationed at Mather Air Force base in Sacramento, Calif, was married on March 4 to Miss Carole Mcintosh in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Airman Dolan and his bride ex pect to arrive in Bedford Hills sometime in July when he has a furlough. He will have served his four-year enlistment in October ^tf tliis year. Mrs. Dolan is living in Sacramento near the base until then.

Isabel Durcan Is Engaged to Mr. O'Connell

Miss Durcan, who was gradu­ated from, Marymount School in Tarrytown and the Mount Vernon Hospital School of Nursing, at­tends New York University. She was presented to society at a dance given by her parents at the Bedford Golf and Tennis Club.

Mr. O'Connell is a graduate 6f Fordham University and a World War I I veteran. He is president of the public relations firm that bears his name.

Colin J . Chisholm, construction supervisor in the Mount Kisco of-, fice of the New_X0rk Telephone Company was feted Tuesday when a luncheon at the - Larchmont Yacht Club marked 35 years of service for Mr. Chisholm, who lives in Mount Vernon.

A native of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Mr. Chisholm received his education in St. Andrew's School and St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia and came to the company in 1923. He served as a linesman, section repairman with the A.T.&T. Long Lines, installer, repairman, supervising line fore­man and then construction fore­man.

Mr. Chisolm is a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Present at the luncheon for the presentation of his pin were W.E. Tobin, C. L . Griffin, R. J . Paretta, Frank Pinchbeck and H. R. Dann.

Virginia Ladd Maki who 32 years ago was a physical edu­cation teacher for the various country schools in the Katonah dis­trict has had a one man art show or» Color Rhythm at the National Arts Club, 15 Grammacey Park, N .Y. which closes today. Several local residents who knew Mrs. Maki when she was in the area as a teacher, made the trip to visit the exhibit.

Cars will be leaving Katonah about 6:30 p.m. in order to be in time to make the evening show. Mrs. John Seitup has been in charge of advance arrangements for transportation and tickets.

Bobby McCall son of Mr. and Mrs. David McCall of Bedford Road, Katonah celebrated his fifth birthday on Saturday with a party at his home that afternoon for several little friends.

The Katonah Baseball Assn. has announced that registration for the Little League Red Soxs and Blue Soxs will be held tonight, Thurs­day, April 9 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Katonah Elementary School. Boys eight to twelve years of age are qualified to register for the tryouts. The first tryout and prac­tice session will be held this Satur­day at 10 a.m. at the Katonah Elementary baseball field.

Mr. and Mrs.' Alfred Ahrens of Bedford Road, Katonah returned home on Tuesday of last week af­ter a 12 day vacation spent on a trip to Laramie, Wyo. on a visit with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thomas. On their return trip they stopped in Niles, Mich, to visit Mr. Thomas' parents, Mr. and Mrs . Jack Pethick and in Barrington, III. for an overnight visit with Mr. and Mrs. John Coatsworth 'form­erly of Cross River. Their final visit was in Alexandria, Va . with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCormick 3rd and family. •

Mrs. Rochard Dubuque of Deer Park Read, Katonah left last Thurs­day for Massachusetts where she plans to visit a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gat-enby. On her return trip home she will be accompanied by her children who were spending some time with their grandparents.
