Provision should be made in the law for admission of the voluntary patient, that certain types of mental disorder may have benefit of tl'eatment in their incipiency. There should aL<;() be provision for admission of patients for obsel,,'ation.

The State Hospital is more a soeial service than a charitable insti­tl1tion. The objective of such a sen'ice must be inten!!ive treatment,
