Halls of Residence

Halls of residence at the University of the Arts London range in price depending on type of room, location and contract length.

Room types this year include; standard en-suite, non en-suite, studio and twin rooms.

We have two contract lengths; 42 weeks and 51 weeks.

Prices for 2014/15 start from £99 per week ranging to £264 per week.

Halls of Residence

• 3333 places in 15 halls of residence across the city

• Two brand new buildings for September: Highline Building (Elephant & Castle) and Sketch House (Finsbury Park)

• A dedicated advisor for students renting privately (including contract reading service)

• A dedicated liaison officer to support and advise disabled students

• The Social Programme in Halls: Events run by students

• Student Welfare Mentors in all our halls to help you feel settled.

How to apply for halls

You will have to formally accept your offer of a place at UAL on UCAS before you can apply for halls of residence

Applications will open on May 6th at 10.00am

You can register in advance on the website. You will need your Student ID number (eg. ABC01234566) which is on your offer letter.

How to apply for halls

Rooms are allocated on a first come first served basis

You can select up to 5 choices of Hall ranked by preference

You will receive your offer approx 3 weeks after application

You will have 14 days to accept your offer of accommodation

In order to accept your offer you will need to pay a deposit, advance rent and an admin fee to a total of around £500 (depending on the hall.)

What to do before I move in? Your Tenancy agreement will start September 2015

Make sure you bring all necessary paperwork with you.

Check in at reception and collect your keys and your welcome pack.

You will be told where to unload your car and where to park.

All arrival information will be sent to you in an email when you accept your halls of residence prior to arrival.

What should I bring?

Your bedroom has a bed, desk, wardrobe, mattress and shelves. The kitchen has a kettle, microwave, cooker and hob.

What should I bring?

Bedding (duvet, duvet cover, pillow and pillowcase)

Kitchen equipment (pots, pans, cutlery, plates, cups, etc)

Toiletries

Food for the first couple of days!

The University’s Colleges and halls of residences are located across the City, so bear in mind that life here will generally involve travel on London transport.

The average commute time will be between 45-60 minutes from home to Central London

All of our halls are in Zones 1-3, you will need an Oyster Card to get around – you can apply for a student oyster card for 1/3 off all travel.

Most people associate University with Halls of Residence,However there are other options for you if you don't wish to live inUniversity managed halls.

1. You can rent a room, flat or house from a private landlord and live with other students.

Or 2. You can rent a room in a privately-run hall of residence, where students from other universities and colleges live together.

Whatever accommodation you decide its essential that you view itbefore you accept.
