“Joy Around Us” (3)

Gene Monin wrote an article for the Newspaper about Joy Around Us. Hundreds of small acts of kindness occur every day and we don’t see them. They are a welcome break from the endless bad stories and restore hope in humankind.

Examples—sometime seen by many, and others by only a few:

Surfers spotted a tiny baby whale separated from its

mother in distress. They comforted the whale until the

mother came back…..

In the 2016 Rio Olympics, New Zealand’s

Nikki Hamblin stopped in her 5,000-metre

semi-final to walk the USA’s injured Abbey

D’Agostino to the finish line. She sacrificed

her chance at a medal in an act of true

sportsmanship.

A young boar got its head stuck in a metal railing

(just like any kid) and the whole tribe of boars (twenty

in all) watched anxiously as firefighters struggled to

free their member.

(over the next couple of week’s we will continue his examples

of “Joy Around Us”)
